Permaban gold buyers/RMT

Can we please start permabanning gold buyers/RMT? I think its common knowledge by now, at least on SoD that buying gold is against ToS and a 2-week suspension clearly does not prevent the offender from offending again. At minimum, they should be banned for an entire SoD phase and then when the new phase launches, start them off with a 2-week suspension. I guarantee you they will likely not offend again. And if you fully permaban them, they will make a new account and resub and some will just quit.

I think if people knew their Wrath classic + retail account would be permabanned, I truly believe they would completely stop buying gold on SoD.

Yes please then re-introduce GDKP’s cause all the gold would be clean

seems fair

Performance enhancing… PEDs have a precedent

Not necessary, the GDKP ban solved this issue entirely. Nothing to see here.

Kidding aside, I agree

Except permabanning does nothing. Everyone knows that illicit buyers don’t buy gold on their main account. They purchase it on a burner account and transfer it and nothing happens beyond the burner account being closed.

Additionally, until they apply a legitimate automated system that is entirely flawless they won’t do perma bans. The data has already proven that there are mass amounts of casualties with the current system as it is. People are afraid to mail gold to their alts, guildies, or make CoD trades due to fear of being banned automatically as a casualty.

The system has already proven to have flaws and blizzard has admitted that there have been casualties and wrote them off as a casualty for a bigger cause with no remorse.

So, ban them both.

All evidence to the contrary.

This post has nothing to do with GDKP? It’s stating the players should have harsher punishments to combat RMT

Burner accounts also do not protect gold buyers hence why gold sellers using a burner get banned along with the traceable gold sent via mail to the account that also gets banned (the buyer)

In which, if someone using a burner didn’t get banned on their main account, but their burner did, now they have to spend another $15 for sub to just get banned again. Eventually if not after the first use, the main account will also get permabanned

I understand. Im just saying GDKP gold would become legitimate but only if RMT and gold buyers were actually punished/removed from the game.

if RMT was completely eliminated GDKP could exist, which is a good thing because its a good loot system

I second this. Ban the gold buyers permanently and bring back GDKP.

perma ban anyone who types logs, parse, or reserved in trade chat too

Ban anybody whose philosophy is “Ban people whose playstyle is different from my own” Instead of you know letting them be with others who play like them or at worse /ignoring them…

but yes also ban gold buyers
ban bots
and ban the gold holding accounts.

This isn’t fool proof and often leads to banning of main account too.

I mean it’s pretty obvious if some newer account buys gold and exclusively is sending gold to another account or another account is exclusively buying their overpriced auctions.

How’s about learning economy and finance before making this post ? Blizzard isn’t dumb enough to do that. They are already walking on eggshell for temporary bans of rmt

I would be fine with GDKP as a raid format if all of the gold used could be verified as ‘clean’ and not RMT’ed.

Thank you.

My kind of thread. Pump it up!

It would be cool if that was possible. I think a lot more people would actually do GDKPs if 1) they were unbanned and B) had that feature in place, and iii) anti-gdkp sentiment died down.

2024 is a wild time to be alive. I cant believe these folks actually got what they wanted, from an actual company.

Everyone thinks that permabanning just bricks their computer or something. I love how it’s tossed around like some end-all-be-all solution to botting by armchair-developers.
