Not that I know of, I live with parents and I doubt they would do something
editing this since I can’t reply more atm
the only thing I ever changed in yolomouse was the pixel size, I even contacted yolomouse after this happened and this is what they said:
"Sorry this happened but did they specifically say YM was the reason? This is the first ban report I’ve heard for YM for a Blizzard game. However they’ve always maintained a gray area stance on it, never officially approving it. It’s also possible they just changed their policies.
However, Yolomouse is generally considered a system-level program that changes the appearance of your cursor outside the game, rather than modifying the game itself. Based on this, it should not result in a ban."
also the fact you brought up graphics stuff makes me wonder, I tried an addon recently called “hyperframe (fps optimizer)” and it heavily changed the game I hated it and turned it off, could it possibly have changed bad stuff? it def gave me fps but idk
It looks like it’s available via Curseforge. Anything downloaded from Curseforge would be fine, as it all functions within Blizzards API.
If you downloaded an outside component that goes along with that addon, that could be the culprit. But just straight up downloading it and running as is from Curseforge would not be the cause of this.
I’ve never heard that before. Curseforge add-ons all function within the Blizzard API. If Blizzard decides that they do not like how an addon functions, they simply tweak the API so it no longer works.
If you download an addon from another source or supplement an addon with an outside program, that could raise some red flags.
I can understand that completely I’ve always trusted stuff from curseforge, the main reason I bring it up is because when I tried it, it was doing stuff like removing objects in front of me from vision but I could see through them, stuff like that seems very gamebreaking
I have never heard that, ever. Addons are made in a sandbox using data that Blizzard allows them to use. They automate nothing - just display information on your screen. Info that Blizz lets them have.
IF they crossed the line into automation - Blizzard may disable the addon. In rare case they could penalize a person - for using an addon to spam for example. It would not be the addon that was a problem, but how someone used it.
Wise not to use something like that. It does seem sus! Again though, Blizzard usually breaks it instead of banning people.
Also keep in mind, that bot and cheat makers will blame anything except detection of their own stuff. They will blame “mass reports”, “curseforge”, “playing too long”, etc. Yeah, no.
Question, you don’t use a mouse or keyboard where you set macro’s within the software linked to the device? Setting macro’s outside of the game can be a trigger too.
I stopped using it the day I tried it, removing it didn’t recover my old settings though I had to manually change everything which they don’t warn you about anywhere, this is the only thing I can think of since you brought up graphics so I mentioned it
I use a finalmouse at 4k polling rate they use xpanel which has nothing like that, I also use a varmilo keyboard which has no program
I think a lot of people have heard that mass reporting is a thing and haven’t been corrected. I don’t believe we have to dismiss someone immediately for mentioning it. It makes sense to me if someone is looking for a reason and nothing else makes sense that they would gravitate towards that. I personally only know the whole mass reports leading to a ban thing is a myth because I lurk here lol
Yeah same here. Best advice I can offer people on this matter and the OP is this. When it comes to addons, less is more. I think I have maybe 2-3, all calibrated simply roleplaying and rarely if ever use them for other things.
I don’t know what the specifics of your situation are OP, you know better than any of us whether there was a legitimate cause for the ban or not. I won’t condemn you because I am not you, and don’t know the specifics. That in mind, I’d trust the appeal process.
If you did something? You already know. You can decide if you want to appeal it. If you know your innocent? But don’t let anyone on these forums try to ruffle your feathers regardless of which it is. Appeal, Appeal, Appeal until it won’t be heard again. This is a dialogue between you and Blizzard. Not me, not the peanut gallery, the sometimes helpful or caustic greens, or the professionals in Customer Service. None of these parties can help you resolve this issue.
For what it’s worth. All the best, and good luck to you.
Bans are not being caused by addons. Period. Addons by design can only do things Blizzard has specifically permitted them to do. The only thing the API can’t prevent addons from doing that could (potentially) violate the rules is spamming chat or otherwise violating chat rules. The “addons” rumor is also being perpetuated by botters to deflect.
I have consistently been using 30+ addons for over 15 years and I’ve never had an account action of any kind.
