Ok so I just built a good gaming rig RTX 2080 OC, i7 9700k with game boast enabled, 32GB RAM @ 3200Mhz log into BFA with 120 and I’m getting BETWEEN 90 -120 FPS ON 1440P! I can’t even fully utilize my 144hz monitor on a 2004 GAME!!! my FPS should be 500+ IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. This pc is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the tech from that era and yet people where magically able to play it.

what do you expect from a game originally designed for a crt monitor

Even the best computers in the world will never get close to that, you’ll always dip down in the 50s and 40s and possibly 30s in raids too.
I just tested COD 4 Modern Warfare and I was getting over 500fps and thats from 2007 meanwhile this ps2 era game performs as if it’s a modern game.
That’s just how it is. Complaining won’t do anything.

SHoulda spent your money more wisely my friend. It doesnt take much to run WOW and a super PC doesnt make the game fps any better in many cases.

Why would anybody care about having a frame rate higher than 60? You are just stressing your hardware and wasting electricity. Serves no purpose aside from reducing the lifespan of your pc.

I don’t do any custom overclocks just the premade oc mode from the manufacture which it’s designed to do. There was a time when there was no need to go over 60fps because we were limited to 60hz monitors but now we have ones that go up to 240hz and there is a BIG difference. My system is well cooled and has plenty of airflow so it should last for quite a while.
You wont actually be getting anything higher than 144 fps your monitor is 144 hz

OP are you using DX12 setting? I’m not sure if it’s default yet but check and see

It may be a 2004 game, but it’s been updated over the years with new graphics. Textures, for example, are much higher quality now (from my understanding, more due to lower compression than an actual increase in resolution). Ditto models.
Things you can do to make performance dip less but not removed totally:
1 - Get a DX12 capable card (you’ve done that)
2 - Use DX12
3 - OC your 9700K (more beneficial than OCing your 2080 for WoW in your case)
4 - Turn on TCP/UDP acceleration on your NIC
5 - Have your network traffic filtered by a firewall before it reaches your system
6 - Increase your UDP buffer size
7 - Reduce view distance to 7
8 - Ensure you’re on Windoze 1903 build for slighter better CPU performance
Lots more can be done but nothing will ‘fix’ your WoW issue. It is the way it is. Best you can do is make it less terrible.
