Per the War Within credits, Ion's new title is Vice President along with his current game director title

They are faces for angry losers to yell at via Twitter comments. (Ion/Watcher, Greg/Ghostcrawler.)

It’s always his fault per the haters. Even if he made a system where casuals get legendary gear sent in your mailbox every 3 hours it’s still bad

Well inflation World Wide inflation so I’m puzzled as to how he could accomplish that.

Holly Longdale was Vice President of Blizzard. Looks like she isn’t anymore.

Yeah and John hight was the position she is in now

Good for him. I honestly believe Ion isn’t out to ruin the game as so many profess to, so it’s nice to see him in charge for a little longer.

IDK, something something crime family. Something something globalism. We will find a way to pin something on him somehow. (/s)

This might sound out there… But when Hearthstone came out I was bummed out it didn’t take place in WoW to some extent… Or at least had its own playable world, even a collection of inns with portals for which you could customize characters and have chats… I genuinely wish to see Warcraft in more media, and more connected.

As for Ion, I really like his presence. What we really need to see though is better communication between the people on both sides of the game client, especially around major updates. More testing, more ways to contact and connect.

I feel so bad when I see him in interviews. You can tell he really does care but is very stressed.

Nothing wrong with that in my opinion but I’ve also never been an Ion hater so maybe he’ll get president instead of just vice president eventually, that would be cool.

One of my guildies absolutely hates Ion with the firey passion of a thousand stars. It’s now just a running joke in the guild to blame everything on Ion.

That being said, good for him on the promotion. We met him at Blizzcon last year and he was super cool, took a picture with us, stared at my guild shirt really oddly. We later had the announcement of the Azerothian Archives in DF so he either stole our guild name or it’s just a funny coincidence.

StarCraft cries in the corner like Baine

I guess they removed the narrative director role.

I like Ion. I dont know why people give him hell.

Ironic as that means his role in World of Warcraft will actually be smaller if he has to also oversee other Blizzard projects; I see this as an absolute win!

Yeah this community’s hate for Ion is wild.

Like I disagree with some of the things Ion does but he’s not trying to maliciously destroy the game.

I just fundamentally disagree with him on foundational ideas pertaining to the game. He is what keeps raiding as such a huge focus of the game, when it’s been dying for 10 years. There are so many things that are affected by this prioritization. I’m not a raider, but the lockout id system for mythic is probably the worst decision I’ve ever seen in a video game.

He’s also the one that firmly believes that affixes need to be in the game to keep things feeling fresh from week to week, which aside from tyrann and fort, none of them actually achieve that. He also thinks that the purpose of affixes is to make the dungeons harder. That is the main point of contention I have with him. His unwillingness to part from this ideology in spite of the positive reception shadowlands affixes received.

That’s good because every step up the ladder is a step closer to removing the stain and gives hope for a brighter future.

Good for him stepping up for being a leader with this game. I think it was bound to happen.

It’s funny when people suggest that. It would be self defeating in the extreme were that his goal. People are silly. :upside_down_face:
