Because they don’t want to go to the soon to be dead realm
Nobody ever said mob mentality was smart.
This is silly. If you have 10000 queue, and just half of those people go to the new realm, you have 5000 people on that realm, 2000 more than was a FULL realm in Vanilla.
Humans are silly creatures.
I don’t think any realms would be dead and it’s all FOMO, but I agree that half the whiny babies won’t actually transfer off and continue to ask for blizzard to solve their problem.
lol
But I hope you all move, so my queue in Herod will be faster
With all the posts of people asking Blizzard for free xfers, I think that some will move.
We moved as a guild over yesterday.
It’s not completely free. It comes with a cost: risk of losing your name, if someone with same name from Skeram also moving
Yeah, but there are no guarantees. There’s no plausible way to orchestrate a mass migration of such proportions and the risks of being stranded on a dead server are there. Why would people that have established guilds, friends and even enemies move to a server that is at high risk of dying?
I’m not trying to talk people into not transfering, but there are risks and the skeptical individuals will avoid them at all costs. I know plenty that would rather endure the queue lines than transferring their 40’s 50’s to a barren server.

No one transfer.
No one transfer!
Everyone stay on Herod
If you leave your new server will die
There. Now all you goobers can sit in queue for the next 3 weeks.
So many people whining about queues and overpopulated realms as if Blizzard didnt go out of their way to open new realms for people and repeatedly warn them that this specific situation was going to happen.
Zero sympathy.
Thank you good sir! I really appreciate my lower queue time. I hope you all enjoy the new realm.
Now if everyone (not me) would follow this man, that would be awesome
Some people only think in extremes. There is no middle ground.
You missed the part where i said, i’m not talking people away from transfering, but there are risks. Or are they not?
Then stay in queue while we play.
While at the same time we warned Blizzard about the population and to release at least 50+ servers during the name reservation phase.
The fact that they only released a few is a joke, as soon as they did that players made plans on what server they’ll play on with guilds and friends. With so few servers of course they’re going to be filled up, it’s common sense.
Then their first solution is to release more servers after players have formed guilds and met with friends on the server they planned to play on instead of releasing more at the start.
So players wait in 8 hour ques at launch to play with friends and their guild. When they finally get to play they level and are afraid to log off due to insane queues which is due to lack of servers and Blizzard says to reroll…which means that players have to again coordinate with friends and guild mates and decide whether or not they’re moving. They move though of course due to insane queue times which again is a result due to lack of servers thanks to Blizzard.
The funny thing is, the new servers Blizzard opened and suggested players move to got filled up as well. So moving was pointless, still sitting in a que thanks to Blizzard not releasing enough servers at launch for whatever reason but it’s our fault according to your logic
I think 50 is a little extreme.
I fully understand why they did what they did. And I’m a person who has lost a lot of faith in Blizzard due to a lot of extremely questionable decisions but if you release too many servers, you WILL end up with many actual dead ones once the tourists are gone.
And at the same time, you say “we warned Blizzard” but there were just as many people saying that Classic would not be as big as people think.

That’s because those people are like Blizzard, out of touch with their fanbase.

Cool. Do what Final Fantasy does and merge servers, then. It’s not that difficult of a problem to fix.
