People Who Ignore You Can Message You And Receive No Indication That They're Ignoring You

Hi Blizzard,

People who have you on their ignore list can still message you. They also get no indication during the chat that they are ignoring you.

For example, if I respond to someone who messaged me while ignoring me, I get the usual “[player] is ignoring you” in red text message. However, the messaging player does not get any message of the sort in chat that says they’re ignoring me, and their message still goes through to me as well.

To be clear, here’s an example. Bob has Susie on their ignore list. Bob can message Susie. There is no chat message that tells Bob that they are ignoring Susie. Susie still receives Bob’s message regardless.

Expected behavior: Ignoring a player prevents you from messaging the player you have ignored, and you should also receive an indication in chat that tells you the player you are attempting to message is on your ignore list.

It’s been like this since vanilla so the behavior is clearly intended. However, I agree with the overall suggestion that the ignoring should prevent sending the target any messages since the potential for abuse extends in that direction as well.
