People who don't repair before joining a mythic+ run

Why? And then you will cry for a repair mount or a jeeves or an auto hammer after one wipe.

And then you will get all pissy when people ask why you didn’t repair before accepting summon/entering portal.

And then on your way back out of the instance, you will die. And then drop group thus destroying a key. All because you don’t know how to hit a repair all button.

Seriously why?!

My main is an engineer. I just bring my own repairs!

Observation mostly. Unless the yellow armor slot is on ui, some just don’t think of it. Repair cost would be a second thought. Distant third would be genuine indifference for broken gear until the hits hurt more.

People don’t repair? I didn’t even know that’s a thing; it just seems so logical to repair. Is it because people are in such a rush?

There’s that too

If you are at the point where 1 wipe causes you to have broken pieces, as the case was in the instance that spurred this post, you are well into the yellow ui notification. Assuming you use the default UI.

People forget or get rushed I understand. But then why start throwing a tantrum when someone just asks “Why didn’t you repair before accepting summons?”

The 4 minutes it takes you to run back out and back in to repair is key destroying.

I won’t hold punches and will say that it is entirely selfish to not repair before entering a mythic+. Unintentional or not.

I was suggesting no-yellow followed by yellow-after-wipe

Imagine not using an auto-repair addon in 2020.

I think repairs are out of date for wow anyhow and it does not add anything to the game

So sometimes people may forget to repair its a pain

This is always fun in classic. I just know someone in group is going to lose their mind if anyone says, “brb, need to repair/buy arrows/buy water/buy reagents”

Had a tank leave mid pull when a Hunter said that he was short on arrows and asked if he could borrow some.

I can understand it in classic for sure. Some of those instances can take 5 minutes just to run out of. Then 5 minutes to the nearest town. Then 5 minutes back and back to where you were in the instances.

A simple repair run can be 20 minutes. Even more selfish in my opinion. Though it is way easier in retail where all you have to do is hop on your tundra mammoth real quick before entering.

Realistically, once a player is at the ilvl to compete in M+ or raids, one would think they know the requirements for performance like repair, health pots, boost pots, food…it doesn’t take much to keep a few of all this in your bags. No excuse at max level not to be prepared.

Alright so. This is what I like to call a leap in logic.

You went from someone being…we’ll call it forgetful, or negligent to this really big scenario. They didn’t repair. I’m fairly sure they weren’t scheming in their char, doing a Mr. Burns finger tent and thinking to themselves: “Good. Excellent. Smithers! Quickly, pick up my pots, flasks, and food buffs! But don’t repair! I want these people to feel the pain.”

I’m also fairly sure they didn’t sit here and have this entire thing planned out like a good game of chess as you’re making it seem like. Sometimes people forget. These days? Who doesn’t have a yak?

I don’t have a yak. I do have a tundra though.

Everyone should have a tundra mammoth. There isn’t really any excuse not to hop on it real quick before entering a key. Just good habits and hygiene. Should be routine, like brushing your teeth in the morning and before heading to bed.

But even if you aren’t in those habits, the correct response would “I forgot, my bad.” not to spew vitriol at people put off at having 4 minutes of their key wasted by your lazy/forgetful behind.

And you’re generalizing, assuming that everyone would do that. If you weren’t, this wouldn’t require a massive thread with the “Seriously! Why!?” at the end of it as if you’ve been wronged. :stuck_out_tongue:

No matter what dungeon i’m running, i always make sure i’m at my best, because you never know what can happen.

I’m going to agree with Shadina and say some people are just forgetful, sometimes it be like that. Where you have something you got to go get IRL, or if you had to also go do another thing before the dungeon after you told yourself you should do all of these things and then suddenly you get the summon thinking your ready because you forgot. It’s not a crime to accidentally forget something. Sure they could’ve been more civil and just said they forgot, but I definitely feel like you’re sort of making a stretch. Esp with the hygienic comparison toward a game.

And if they have or others have a repair mount, jeeves, or a hammer then that’s fine no big deal it happens. And some people don’t feel they need to get a mog mount or mammoth mount, that could’ve been their off day and they could’ve been on top of their repairs this entire time .

I was just in a run where someone left because when asked why they didn’t repair before hand they threw a tantrum and left a group.

And this is a pretty common experience I have seen. When asking why someone is not practicing basic hygiene, that should be expected of anyone wanting to push high end content, they throw a hissy fit.

I personally do think I was wronged. Their forgetfulness/laziness meant that that 11 ToS key I wanted for my IO score never got completed. And 20 minutes of my time was wasted with no more time to find another key at the moment.
The same for the other 3 members of the group. Especially the person whose key it actually was.
