I was wondering if this is against ToS, and if not how do I do it?
No, itās not against ToS. Easiest to look on youtube for tutorial.
I do it. I like it more.
I do and Iād never go back to keyboard. Look up consoleport.
It is, in fact, supported.
They actually made it so people COULD use a controller for disability purposes.
Why would you? Keyboard and mouse is superior.
Spice it up I guess.
Look up console port and immersion add-ons. Those two are great.
I imagine some people wanna sit in a couch playing on their television or something. I find controller nicer to use too with games. Though not wow. I have to many keybinds to play wow on a controller. Heck my mouse already has nearly as much buttons bound to it then a controller has in buttons.
I donāt see why that would be against ToS. Also people have been doing that for a long time, I just see no personal reason to
being āsuperiorā in this game is literally of no value to tons of players
all they play for is to relax, chill, and do mindless crap while not caring about anything very much
all they care about is being entertained
Console port and action cam mod. I wouldnāt recommend it for competative play or tough content, but itās a lot of fun to level with
A 4 button setup vs someone like me in a battleground is basically going in blind.
nope, not against the ToS at all. thereās actually built in controller support.
I played around with it when SL first launched, itās kinda nice for dailies and such.
itās a lot more than 4, itās at least like 20
Bubble, Wings, judgement, wake the ashes ----> plant flag on enemy corpse. I guess you will need a 5th button for that flag.
But in all seriousness The buttons that can be used are A,B,X,Y Rtrigger+A, Rtrigger+B, Rtrigger+x, Rtrigger+y, left trigger, left bumper, right bumper, up, left, right, down (all on dpad) Left click on joystick could be for mounting.
Iām sure we could squeeze a decent rotation out of 15 buttons. āAā button should probably be reserved for gathering/capturing. So thatās still a 14 button rotation.
I never really got the hang of using modifier bumpers and triggers for games on controllers. I tried it in KotOR and Fable, and it just felt clunky to have to press another button before doing whatever attack was tied to that button combo.
Maybe itās because iāve played a lot of platform MMOās? But it feels very natural to me. I didnāt know controller support was an option, so I may need to give it a try when doing some dailies or WQās, like what Paen said.
I have all 24 key binds on my controller. Once you master it, you can play at about 90-95% effectiveness.
thereās an addon that helps, but it feels a little awkward to use. i tried it, couldānt get a hang of targetting.
There are several other MMOās that natively support using a gamepad and can even run on console. You might look into one of those.
