This feature was an absolute mistake and has brought out the worst in people.
The amount of times I have had people flat out start griefing, going afk, or just logging off when the abandon vote fails, IN A KEY WHERE THERE WAS NO REASON TO ABANDON, has made me want to just stop playing keys for this season. And judging by the raider io data i am far from the only one dealing with this.
As usual, this system was shipped way too early and in need of a lot of changes.
The worst was already there. Iâm sad that Blizzard do not allow public banlist of players to be shared in addons or weak auras. But you can use your own with PBL.
So you finally admit that the entire system literally just exists to expand the number of things to report a player for?
Took a few months for you to admit that this was the entire point of the system; to promote and encourage toxicity, by extending what folks want to report players for.
Welcome to why this never shouldâve been implemented into a PvE mode with failure-states. It literally does nothing other than make things more awkward and unpleasant for folks who just wanna run keys.
Except it doesnât do that. It prevents people from leaving failed keys because some folks insist on a key not being failed yet. Because otherwise itâd be the same thing as before, with only folks who are griefing (not merely âleaving keysâ) breaking the CoC.
This system literally just extends what people want the CoC to mean but it hasnât changed anything. It literally just promotes toxicity because the rules hasnât changed, only the social repercussions.
This system doesnât do that, and nothing can change that in those who do it for legitimate reasons (as in non-griefing reasons). To leave a key doesnât go against the CoC as that on its own isnât enough to constitute as griefing (as thatâs the only thing that is against the CoC in the context of this topic regarding people who leave keys).
It doesnât touch on that at all. Instead it just normalizes a certain type of toxicity.
