Honestly if you do any of the non BFA content it feels a lot better IMVHO. But the portal prune really hurt player enjoyment of doing non BFA content. But don’t let that deter you because honestly the design of the game with the older devs was indeed better.
Worst part of WoD, Legion and BFA is that they are all standalone games and not much replay value. And what replay value these expansions had the new dev team has pruned them down to almost nothing.
WoD quest storlyine is worth doing for returning players IMO but the rest like Tanaan is a major skip.
Legion is worth doing for weapons skins for returning players or current players.
And BFA? Skip all of it if you are a returning player in shadowlands.
