I’m tired of putting spammers or trolls on ignore, then
they get angry and make 30 different characters to all send me a gibberish letter.
The letters don’t show up in the mailbox, but on the character screen it gives you the “you have mail” icon anyways and then procedes to list tons of those spam names, which blocks you from seeing if anyone important or the Auction House has mailed you back, just giving another way for griefers and such to annoy you even if you do put them on ignore.
Can this get removed somehow?
Also if you take them off ignore, all their spam and derogatory messages pop back up, and as we all know, the right click report system does nothing.
It does actually you just have to get enough people reporting for the automatic warning/banhammer to happen. If they are just whispering you I doubt anything will happen ever. I doubt those reports even get looked at. You know how many people probably right click and report each day? They aren’t spending time on that. lol
If you think it’s the same person you may want to open a ticket for ongoing harassment but I don’t know if that will get you anywhere besides a long prewritten response with some symbol emojis.
it only works for the bots that are raw farming to mass report innocent players that kill them or report them, guess who’s get banned by the automatic system, the bots that got 1 single report by a random person or the random person who got reported by 10+ accounts that the system doesn’t know are bots.
Depends, if you trolled them or something then go “I’m putting you on ignore now, lols” and then that successfully triggers someone that’s on you. But if it’s just blatant harassment for something small or weird then it needs to stop.
Forgot to say I’ve kinda been harassed before, they tagged my character cause they thought I was a girl… well needless to say I said nothing and logged off that character for months.
Didn’t contact me again, or yet.
Weird experience for sure, specially with random hi and flirts… um yeah, sometimes you just come across weird people, and it’s also why being nice is preferable at least you won’t get constantly stalked everywhere… just saying from experience.
Wow is absolutely awful with their tools to ward off trolls. You can contact anyone in the game if you’re deadset on doing so.
To add to this post, I’m not sure why ignoring someone doesn’t ignore their whole account. It’s laughable how easily you can get around being put on ignore.
Ironically the same jokers who will say this didnt happen because people dont troll like this…are the same people who whine about needing more restraints to deal with the trolls, lmao
Sure, it’s very easy. YouTube search “blizzard automatic bans” there are several. A recent one by payo (a streamer) released because he had two of his accounts banned for hacking just for them to reverse it later.
The only one on the entire page about an automatic ban is this video.
This seems to be an incredibly rare case. He seems to be mostly getting silenced from his screen shots. Cant really tell the full story. But silence and muted are often referenced in his screenshot grabs from Blizzard.
If you want to pretend this is normal, thats on you.
How do people manage to get enough hate from someone to the point they literally are willing to invest their time into making characters JUST to mail you?
And who the eff pays attention to if they have mail? The endless nether is probably full to the point it challenges the claim of “endless” of all the items I’ve sent across my entire account and then forgot (including the 30 day return time). If someone had bothered to mail me a letter there is like a 99.99% chance I’ll never know.
If you want to hate mail me, you best just find and whisper me. Bonus I won’t even report you because if I’ve somehow caused you so much hate and angst to the point you’re willing to try and track me down…you might just be fun enough to toy with and see just how much hate I can actually get from you.
