I’m a Hardware Engineer for a pharmacy software company.
I work with our software devs and QA to test things and figure out how to program our software to work with hardware that the pharmacies use. And I help fix things when the support people don’t know what to do.
There is actually a lot of free time with my job. I wish I could work from home.
I prepare foods at a local college kitchen/cafeteria in western MA. I flip burgers, make pizza, sandwiches, cultural dishes, salads, soups. I prep food and the chefs adds spice and get credit. The usual, you know
When I’m not designing databases, I provide food and offerings for 2 cats as well as being granted the high honor of opening up their screened in porch throne room each morning at no later than 6am.
I used to work from home. It’s both great and a danger. While losing the need to waste time commuting is completely great, it also isolates you from your peers and others within the company. So when they look to reduce costs, it makes you first on the list to have your job sent offshore. After all, one disembodied voice on the phone is the same as any other voice. At least it’s that way to beancounters.
I worked from home occasionally at my last job, but it was also a 1 and a half hour minimum commute. You do have a point though it is a much different dynamic.
I’m actually only like 10 minutes away from my office now. I just wish I could work in my pajamas, lol
I’m an IT Analyst at an automotive factory. I do a little of everything from hardware installs on the shop floor to database administration and SQL programming in the IT cave.
