People needing on every last boss item

Am I the only person who finds this sleezy? People hang around until most of the group leaves then just need the entire pile to DE. I’ve seen it quite a few times and it’s not always Faerlina surprisingly.

Edit - No they do not coincidentally actually need all those items. Taking chain, cloth, caster neck as a leather user and such.

Nope, you aren’t the only one and it absolutely sucks when you do need the item and aren’t just losing out on some gold… Yay for having to farm an additional 100 Obsidian Fragments because that mage need that polearm I’m sure.

run your own groups

Why is the answer to this always something like form my own groups for RDF? I should need to go to lengths to ensure there aren’t going to be crappy people? Get a full group of 5 for something as simple as a quick random hero queue once a day?

You’re not wrong that it would likely prevent this but it’s a hell of a length to go to when people really shouldn’t be able to need on something outside their primary armour type.

It also kind of defeats the entire purpose of a random dungeon finder.

Can’t remember when, but at some point either in Cata or a later expansion, they changed the loot rules so you couldn’t roll on stuff you can’t equip. They need to bring that back.

personal loot?

I don’t know about that. Some people liked it, but I hated it. They added personal loot back around end of MoP or early WoD, but I know for sure it was in WoD.

I have so many memories of running dungeons on my alts for gear, and I must have run some dungeons over 10 times, and never got a single piece that I needed. If they upped the drop rates, then I would support you on that, but as it was, it felt horrible.

I think those people feel like you get what you asked for. Not assuming you wanted RDF in Classic, just in general. I didn’t care either way, but I knew this was coming. Happen the first time around.

Imagine if Blizzard added the disenchant button that was in the game originally. That would be crazy.

It actually worked like that from the very start, it just only applied to Wrath dungeons and was later extended to all dungeons

No it wasnt personal loot. Personal loot just gives you loot while no one else can roll. But this was like an equip / armor type requirement to roll need.

Looking at your guild tag, im gonna out on a limb and say these folks who do this, they want the NEEDY Achievement. Only way to do that is to increase how many times you roll need.

So, chalk it up to the Achievement not the player. Blizzard did this.

2/10 for bait.

Just one of the many ways WoW has improved over the years. Lots of features from retail would be much welcome. Like only being able to Need roll on your class’s armor type and loot spec.

Faerlina logic. You don’t need to grief other players for a worthless achievement. If you care that much about it, go run regular heroics.

Because it works.

it’s really not hard to form a group from chat to run a few dungeons with. They more than likely won’t roll on anything you need.

I don’t need any of the items they’re stealing luckily. This happened again today, a rogue lost a regular 346 leather helm he was after to a shaman stealing everything at the end of the dungeon. It’s becoming more frequent which is odd but there’s not much to be done about it other than form your own groups until Blizzard implements a better system.
