A lot of brand new computers come equipped with 250 GB SSD storage devices. World of Warcraft is over 70 GB now. Windows 10 can easily get over 50 GB within a month.
When trying to clean up storage space in Windows 10 the Disk Cleanup does not clean up everything by default.
Even under Settings->System->Storage, people have to manually delete temporary files like Delivery Optimization Files, Windows Update Cleanup, Temporary Internet Files, etc and a whole list of things.
All this stuff adds up.
If people have any other games, their storage device on their computer is going to fill up pretty quick. And their computer may even freeze up or crash
They may want to turn hybernate off.
Just a heads up. I expect mass technical difficulties with Shadowlands even on brand new computers
IMO WoW is just a big game now. Windows 10 can get pretty massive in a hurry. And a lot of new computers come with relatively modest size SSDs
Glary Utilities and others like it is your friend.
500GB SSD is like the bare minimum you should be targeting for an SSD in 2020.
You can just add another SSD as a secondary and install the game (as well as others) on that.

Then invest in a larger SSD? A 1TB SSD only costs about $100 CND these days.

Just buy a larger SSD or even a hybird HDD?
Storage is dumb cheap in 2020. I have like 15TB of storage in my tower alone.
I found a 500gb ssd on sale on amazon for $40. so I bought 2 and added a 2nd to me and my wife’s computer. Soon they will be starting their pre pre pre black friday sales. should be able to find one at a good price.
They removed the SSD from system requirements. You can play on an HD if you want. Also cleaning windows trash is fairly easy.
I have a 500gb ssd and it’s all I need. I however only play WoW though. Maybe a few other games at random times.
I want this 10 seconds of my life back…

That’s what I mean.
If you keep it to one or two games you would be fine.
Trying installing your whole steam library (or heck even all Blizzard games) and you’d run out of space real fast. It also assumes you don’t have a bunch of music or movies on there either.
You can tell someone knows nothing about computers when they say you need a computer dedicated only to playing wow.

I mean upgrade the SSD size is an option you know even on laptops…
This is normal on my laptop.
if you turn off windows virus scan windows defender it will clear 80% of your usage and turn that processing towards wow. I hope this helps!
Ahh a virus scanner haven’t used those in years
If your using windows 10 … it has a virus scan built into windows. Disable it by going to windows security in the bottom right hand taskbar. Then disable it.
Use linux…not a fan of Windows or Mac
Not caused by a full storage drive.
Or you can buy a 500gb SSD for like $50.
Or you can continue using your old HDD and still be able to play the game.
If 250 SSD is your only storage device I recommend you buy a PC instead of console.
