People love to say "Skill Issue" like is something easy to adress

Just something that i noticed recently. And honestly I think telling someone “skill issue” is no different than saying “lol get screwed bozo”.

Ngl but sounds like this may be an issue revolving around ones skills

To be fair, “Skill Issue” is something that most players will find easier to fix themselves compared to other in-game problems.
And, there’s always Hekili.

They’re using addons that cover the entire screen.

People who have no idea they are having a skill issue are in no position to train themselves to get over their problems, especially when the only “feedback” they get is from players who seem to be upset that they’re having a bad life.

Bad in that they look down on others who don’t play the game up to their standards?

Bad in that they blame game design for their own personal shortcomings

If bro is gonna call something that requires paying attention as its bare minimum requirement to complete “too hard nerf pls” then I’m gonna tell him he has a skill issue.

It’s not new.

Players have been telling each other to ‘git gud’ since forever.

That’s gaming for you, and should not offend you in the slightest.

Sometimes game design is a direct factor in players having skill issues. Nowhere does the game tell you how you’re doing.

It is easy to fix. Google a spec guide, practice at a dummy until you get comfy, then start slowly working your way up through the content levels. If you have a growth mindset you can actually get really good really quickly.

wouldn’t this affect all players? Some take the time and effort to get good, and others complain and do nothing about it.

I agree with you. It is either a kill or a wipe.

If you are on your own, tackling a rare, and you die; there it is. You know right away if you want to go back and try that bear again or simply move on.

What’s the alternative?

What should someone say instead?

Genuine question

Not knowing the difference? Honestly a skill issue.

you need to develop the game sensicals

Anyone who uses most “buzzwords” use them wrong on purpose to get a rise out of people. Technically, it’s lite trolling. I tend to ignore comments like skill issue, fomo, ad hominem, etc. If someone has the intellectual capacity, or the actual guts to come out and say what they are thinking, I tend to respect it more. There are a few people on this forum I would gladly say what I think of them if I ever want to take another forum vacation. But, since the last time I was “asked to leave”, I waited 6 years before appealing since I told a CM on this site exactly what I thought of him. Now he is gone, and I am back.
