For some reason high levels in FF14 can do dungeons with low levels being scaled down via random group finder. And i need that dungeon for story quest. Also i had no idea that guy with 2h axe is a tank there.
And me, tank 20 lvl with four buttons total getting shout at because i can’t aggro entire dungeon and too slow. Jeesus.
You can be high levels and do low level dungeons in wow.
That what party sync does.

Idk i just was helping a friend out and we just spammed dungeons, queing for the random classic ones.
I got back into FFXV this month. That’s pretty fun.
That wasn’t my experience tanking with marauder.
This doesn’t track with my experiences in FF14 at all. I found people there to be remarkably polite and decent compared to WoW players. Yes, when tanking too. I stopped playing the game for other reasons but I was quite impressed with the community.
FFXIV has definitely become more toxic over the years.
Try learning to tank in ESO with randoms.
No idea how quick people move in FF14 but holy crap can they boogie in ESO. I didn’t get to actually tank to learn anything until vets.
Probably how new players feel when I random into a dungeon in WoW with the intent of boosting a friend.
I’ve honestly never had this experience in FFXIV before. And while it has happened to me in WoW, it’s admittedly been a long time as well.
I will say that PUGs in FF are generally more friendly and sociable, but that’s it.
I love wow, but when comparing it to ffxiv, at least in my experience, FF has been far less toxic. Especially in random groups.
Again this is just my own experience, but people are usually far more willing to help teach new players and explain mechanics and such.
This isn’t to say FF is all flowers and sunshine. There’s definitely still toxicity, rudeness, and impatience. However, at least from my experiences it’s been far less common there than in wow.
Though there’s still plenty of fun and friendly people in wow. I’ve had lots of good experiences here too
FFXIV dungeon tanking is easy. “Turn on tank stance. Hit things. Dodge shiny AoEs, push your short CD and one long CD “Don’t take damage” buttons when the boss is channeling something that sounds like a tank buster.”
My wife has been begging me to play FF14 with her but I can’t stand it, the few classes that sound mildly interesting to me are tank only and I absolutely do not want to tank.
Yeah I stopped playing FF14 because dungeons suck so hard. Keep getting into dungeons where I can only spam 3 buttons thanks to level scalling.
Yeah no thanks I unlocked the abbilities I wanna use them.
Go for it. Tanking in ffxiv is extremely easy and the gunbreaker class is fun. Just slap on that aggro buff and go to town.
Then don’t do leveling roulette?
Yeah, I just do one Expert Roulette a day so I can cap tomes easy in 5 days. Doing Leveling Roulette is for leveling classes, or for farming progress towards Tank achievement mounts.
Ehhh, my experience is the opposite. Toxic dps kept pulling everything for a tank that was still learning and when the tank said something everyone else started to curse the tank for being bad. I was sitting there with a wtf face and stood up for the tank as I was still learning too.
With WoW people have always been way more patient and willing to teach.
I mean Im trying to level up? But the fact I keep getting pushed back down in dungeons just took the joy out of leveling felt like not getting rewarded at all.
