I posted this in the other bug forum and was told to post this here since it is more relevant. I have noticed people editing posts and then the posts are unhidden and someone told me that flags are removed when someone edits a post. I don’t know if this means that reports are not received when someone edits a hidden post, but this seems like a very big oversight. Obviously people should not be able to just edit a post and have all reports of them removed. I think this is unintentional which is why I am posting here about it.
Even if someone edits a post, the mods can still see what it said before.
If a post got flagged, hidden then unhidden, that means a moderator didn’t think it was bad (or that bad). Take this with a huge grain of salt as I’ve seen people get banned simply for disagreeing with someone while other people go around calling people very nasty names on a daily basis and no matter how many times you report them, no action is taken.
The term for that is “licensed troll”. They exist on every forum I’ve ever posted in. They’re usually buddies of the moderators, alts of the moderators or shill/sycophants who kiss up to the moderators to earn these special rights.
