Wait… Other players cant see my fel-touched shards floating above my head?? wth! What’s the point of the glyph then?? Blizz, plz let our allies see the shards above our heads plz!
great aesthetic!
nope, since they hotxifxed the way our shards look it’s only client side.
Mages, ofc, everyone can see. But ours? Nah…nope…
Dumb change, really. The very purpose of getting those Soul Shard Glyphs, is to display those shards above our heads for our self and the world to see.
Gets even more moronic when they removed those cosmetic display from us just to give fire mages something similar.
I bet the artist and animators which worked hard are real proud when the designers assume that we players can’t tell the difference between our floating soul shard from fire mage’s floating orbs.
I would not want my shards to show in a PvP setting or WPvP setting. It would give my enemy an unfair advantage.
Read the OP haha. It says allies…
Let them see my shards it will not save them from my wrath… on another note I want people to see them cause the green ones complete my transmog if they saw them they would understand how I look.
Previously, the default setting was our Soul Shard floats above our head and displays it to the world. A glyph option was provided to those who prefer to hide this display, which like you mentioned, was great for PvP.
Now, the default setting is our Soul Shard is hidden. Now, we are given 3 cosmetic glyphs to display the soul shards on our head - OG Purple, Orangy Fire or Fel-O-Green.
The problem is only the warlock can see the floating shards, even after glyphed. It should display for the world to see since we choose to use those glyphs.
totally agree! I spent a lot of time gathering all the fel-like green items to don myself in and the fel-touched shards are such a nice compliment!
It really is the STUPIEST thing ever that only the player/warlock can see them - I have a Druid Scrib, she’s currently camping the recipe for the Fel-Touched one … Someone on my server wants 27,000+ gold for this Glyph. If everyone could see it, fine, 27,000g whatever, I can see that with how much of a pain it is to get the darn recipe … But given only I see them, no 27,000g is beyond overpriced for a Glyph lol.
I wish I could message this fool and be like “No ones gonna buy that for your price, unless they are completely oblivious to the fact that no one else can see them” [eye roll].
Agree 100%!!! Makes no sense that allies/party members cant see the shards. Sad… hope they change it!!
Blizzard has much more important things to worry about than displaying your soul shards.
Precisely. Nice post.
I kinda understand this but kinda not. I mean you can see how you look, and as a player that is “not you”, no offense but I couldn’t care less what’s floating over your head. I can see wanting to show off I guess, but again all this is based on the pretext that anyone but you cares what you look like.
Its one more thing to keep the warlock class down. But enough joking around. Having our shards not being seen by other classes was a mistake that should have been exempt from the client only spells and effects. It is a great aesthetic like you said, I just wish they would change it so other players could see our shards again.
I got some cool transmogs that work very well with the floating shard effect.
Wow, I have never encountered a person in 21 years of playing mmorpgs who said they could careless how their, or other players’ characters look, how someone’s character looks, and wanting to “look cool” is one of the biggest draws of the genre, what do you think was the point of adding transmogrification to the game, there’s even the Trial of Style transmog holiday. Anyway, aside from you lol, everyone else wants their character to look a certain way, and Blizzard making a purely cosmetic glyph visible only to the person playing that character, in an mmorpg, is incredibly idiotic on their part and they need to change this immediately, I don’t care if they have “better things to do.”
I didn’t say i didnt care how MY character looks to ME. I said I didnt care how YOUR character looks. Do try and keep up, we’re really only jogging here. It’s so funny that you think anyone else gives a crap that your shards aren’t visible to them. But hey lets drop everything that matters so everyone can see your stupid rocks floating around…
I did my time in a vanilla WoW clown suit. Never again.
I was quite tickled to get the Bubblebood containment pack this week!
