Yeah but that’s what I mean by only a small percentage of the population doing RMT, there’s no MMO without some type of P2W going on but I refuse to believe a lot of people are engaging in it cause it’s not something the average person will ever be able to afford or upkeep.
In reality most of the bots that do farms can be done by humans, it’s not difficult but just tedious and people have found ways to farm that bots can’t such as SP runs for example, those runs alone for a couple hours is an insane amount of gold if you have a mage alt and you’re bored.
If gold was 100k for 1 dollar you could say most if it was legit. You keep talking about money then you should know how supply and demand work. With the amount of bots supply is extremely high but yet the price of gold hasnt bottemed out.
Is everyone buying gold? Of course not but to think most of it is legit or people are doing real farming/ah flipping to drop months worth of playing on a single item is laughable.
There are not that many bots, maybe 4 - 5% of the population at max. It’s not that widespread.
What’s laughable is people not having a surplus of gold this late into TBC, most people are in SWP farms selling new pieces for upwards of 15k+ daily as well as having Pally/Mage alts selling boosts. There are so many ways to earn gold, including the AH as well as dailies and other things.
It’s no one’s fault but your own if you don’t have gold this late into TBC.
I’ve made 10k this month, 10th of May to 10th of June.
I’ve made 2k this week, it’d have been 4k but I bought a disgusting Oozling for 2.4k 2 day’s ago and I’ve already made the gold back.
I fish schools of fish in Zangarmarsh, flip items on the AH and do Isle/NW dailies.
The dailies in of itself gives me ~250g
Fishing is RNG, don’t know the actual numbers but if I were to guess I’d say it’s ~50g/ph on a very bad day, 350g/ph on a good day
Flipping items on the AH is pretty good gold, main way I flip is item disenchanting and selling the materials
I pretty much get 10k each month now and it doesn’t even take much to do, it’s like 3 hours of playtime to get everything done. 1h on dailies, 1h fishing (could spend more time really) and spent the remaining time doing AH stuff.
I should end this by saying I have 40k gold atm and that near the start of TBC I pretty much had 300g after getting max alchemy and getting tailoring on two characters.
The most insane part is that the people complaining about RMT don’t even understand that they can do everything you just said and earn gold daily that way, they think any amount of gold is RMT probably because they never even bothered playing the game long enough to figure out the methods.
you know that would be thousands of bots?
And why do you think bots exist in the first place? it does because of gold buying / selling existence.
you’re day dreaming if you think that someone would waste weeks if not months in game play to can get gold cap when they can pay few $$$ to obtain that amount of gold, it’s obvious that we have tons of people players buying gold because it’s super cheap & we have tons of gold sellers because their currency is too weak.
no one is accusing standard players who farm thousands of gold, but GDKP’s have alot of level 68~70players on fresh accounts with tens of thousands of gold, gdkp’s are based mainly on those pure buyers Aka “gold buyers”
I’ve played many KMMOs, typically a lot of the top players are the ones you see with bots doing the farms that no other player wants to do.
Who knows how many of those bots are non-gold seller ones that are just there for personal use?
Gold rates are not affordable by your average joe, only whales can sit there and swipe the absurd amounts people charge now a days on items.
It’s only a very small percentage of people that do this and the ones who get suckered into doing it are often times broke as a result and quit because they read posts like yours and think it’s so easy and ruin their experience.
Stop fearmongering about RMTs, no one cares and it’s only a small amount of people doing it. Instead of crying about GDKPs and stuff, why not teach people how to make legit gold like other people in this thread?
They are alts of mains, this late into TBC people have a ton of gold.
as i said you’re day dreaming, it doesn’t take anyone few days to have a chat with those pure buyers to know that they’re new to game and bought the gold. and it doesn’t take anyone more than few hours to clearly see the insane amount of gold bought to wow classic, and it shocked me how you claim that RMT is only on very few percentage when too many people talk about buying gold in their guild discord…are you not even playing this game? tons of people are only playing wow to get cash out of it and tons of people are feeding those sellers because they are lazy and they buy gold, while gdkp is best promotional system for gold buying, no one can be this ignorant about the massive RMT happening in wow tbcc atm.
Side point to OP post - in my opinion, many of the people (usually guildless, not 70, undergeared) who spew stuff on forums or in game channels like “he has item X he must be a gold buyer”…“nice Y how much did you need to swipe” are just using the existence of gdkp/rmt as a cope to them being bad players, since they themselves cannot get those items any other way; therefore they cannot fathom any other a way another player could get any good item in the game without buying it. (back in vanilla as a wee noob in highschool I would see a geared player and think “he must have no life or friends” or something to that effect to cope that I was just crap and they were not).
Correct. To find out if I could or not I would have to become a top notch fisherman with endorsements and a benefactor. Since I don’t fish at all we may never know for sure.
