I mean they didn’t though if you read the post its clear that banning multiboxing was not the intention. They were giving boxers advance warning that a change they were making would flag their accounts so they could change their setup. Thier intent with the change clearly was not targeting boxers but warning them that the updates to warden memory checking system would flag them.
I am still multiboxing with 16 characters on 16 computers. Your assumption of the use of some type of program to broadcast keys is incorrect. I use 2 of the 8 port KVM synchronous switches that I talk about on my live stream on the PreparedWoW channel. I use hardware that is connected by USB. There is no key mapping, no input broadcast software.
You’re welcome to check it out live or view one of the previous recorded videos to see how it’s done within the rules of WoW and WoW Classic.
I am possibly going to do 20 toons soon. It depends on testing of another computer. If it works well then I’ll get another 4 of those computers, another 8 port switch and add 4 more characters to my existing 16
In Blizzard’s defense (lol) the fishing bots and the flying druid I reported recently were banned within 48 hours. I mean, that’s progress considering the hunters I reported about 6 months ago were still out botting weeks after being reported.
They also send me in-game mail telling me my report lead to suspensions. Gotta give a little credit. Remember, once something in a game has real world monetary value, bots and hackers will flood to it. It’s pretty much impossible to eliminate all together, but effort to stop it should be displayed regardless.
I figured you would have to report them, and like bots the BaNs WoUlD cOmE iN wAvEs, but the official stance, has, for the first time in 15 years, changed. Its the smallest something, but its the most we have ever gotten over blizz acknowledging the effect multiboxers have on this game.
I don’t even get why you would care if they report or not. If its a bot it will get banned. If its just a multiboxer nothing happens as they rely on warden to detect illegal software its all automated. If they are using undetected or legal ways of boxing they wont get banned.
Because MANY wow players cannot help but try to skirt as close to breaking rules as possible, in a “I’M NOT TOUCHING YOUUUUU!” mentality. Completely ignoring the “spirit” of the law.
It is not bad multiboxing without the software. I have my 5 windows open and just use hover over window in windows 10 to play and a whole truck load of assist macros. I’m pretty sure people report me all day everyday and i could care less. All people ever do is cry and complain. I get messages from ppl how Dare You multibox it is now against the rules!!. I simply reply learn to read and ignore them after.
