Multiple people in my guild have recently said they are canceling their subs due to lack of new content. The server discords are filled with new recruitment posts from guilds that previously never had issues. The chat channels on my server are FILLED with guilds spamming for new members. Every guild is going through the same thing right now; we are all losing people and FAST. We are definitely in a content lull, we’ve been raiding BWL since Feb 12.
We need a blue post ASAP indicating a projected AQ release date in order to rejuvenate people and keep their interest. You are on the verge of losing A LOT OF SUBS without providing us this information. There are tons of people just hanging on by a thread at the moment, and once some of these guilds start hitting ~30 people on raid nights, half of them will just pack up there stuff and leave too.
Please be smart Blizzard. Give us SOMETHING. Keep the people interested.

3 months is not a content drought.

Sounds like Classic wasn’t for them if they some how don’t have things to do.

If Blizzard released the next phase every time someone said that, Classic would have been over months ago and people would really be quitting due to lack of content.

People arent quitting because lack of content. They’re quitting because blizzard is doing a terrible job running the game. Also the fact content is easier than LFR.

They wouldn’t drop AQ without at least a months notice. So at that point you’re looking at 4-5 months between BWL and AQ. That is the definition of a content drought. This is classic, none of this needs to be programmed or designed. It just needs to be released. It’s not like we are asking them to create new raid content. Just give us info on when the next raid content will be dropped.

They’ll be back. Let us enjoy prices dropping in the meantime.

Some of us have already done everything we need to do. I can easily flip your comment on you, “If you still have stuff left to do, then you’re bad and haven’t been playing.” See how unhelpful those comments are?

People are likely quitting because all but a few classes/specs are broken past the dungeon level in PvE for Vanilla/Classic (for a variety of reasons). Add that to the fact that a huge chunk of the player-base would rather exploit/cheese content than actually do it in a traditional manner that befits the design-intent & spirit of the MMORPG genre. I could go on, but why bother?

Just because you no-life the game doesn’t mean everyone else does as well.

Classic is a legacy game with a finite amount of content. Many of us want to take our time and enjoy the content as it releases. Once all the content is out it is gone and done, it is over. If you rush it a lot of people are going to miss out on a lot of the experience.
I didn’t play vanilla and I’m really thankful that Blizzard decided to release classic. I’m having a great time with it. BWL was not easy for us. It took us over six weeks to clear the whole thing and we are just now getting it on farm status. People such as your guildmates who want to blow through content are the minority and if they have their way on the pacing it would ruin the game for the rest of us.

Please explain how people are “cheesing” the content. Its easier than LFR and 95% of raid groups (including pug raids) have cleared BWL.

If you are leaving now because of this what is going to happen when Naxx has been out for 3 months or more? Really classic wow has limited content to begin with and AQ will just bring these players back for a short time before they leave again. Recruit people to your guild that want to stay for the long haul.

We are at an all time high. Sounds like mismanagement.

The point of classic is that we don’t have an infinite gear grind with tons and tons of dailies. If you’re getting bored, just level a new class or level a new one on the opposite faction to get both perspectives. Also don’t just buy dungeon run groups, you’ll just complain there’s no content after rushing through it. Having a lot of fun trying out both a gnome warlock level 31 and an undead rogue level 34.

The game came out at the end of August.
2 months later they dropped Dire Maul (October)
1 month later they dropped World Bosses and Honor System (November)
1 month later they dropped AV/WSG (December)
2 months later they dropped BWL (February)
1 month later they dropped Arathi Basin (March)
1 month later they dropped ZG (April)
If they announced AQ today, it wouldn’t drop until mid June, which is 2 months from ZG and 4 months from BWL.
So an announcement today with a mid June release date is actually right in line. All I’m asking for is that we get that info now, so that guilds can prepare and retain the people we need to retain.
I’m not asking them to drop AQ, no where in my post did I say that. All I ever asked for was INFO on when they PROJECTED AQ to drop.

Did you get all reputations exalted, all quests completed on both factions? All t1 t2 sets on all classes at least once and on both factions?
Do you do RP events?
Unlike retail raiding, Classic raiding is meant to be enjoyed regardless of what phase we are in.

Almost all of which was rushed because people were crying about being bored after blowing through the content in the first week of each patch.
No, there is still plenty to do for 99% of the player base. No need to cater to the 1% when they will just rush through everything anyway.

there is ironically a thread in the first page right now showing that all but like four realms have gone up in population since January.
This troll thread did not age well.
