People afk on solo shuffle arena

Those guys lose every game for being afk and he gains like very small amount of honor? Or do they gain same amount of honor as others?

Honor gained is based on how much you win, so they probably receive a very low amount.

I have noticed an uptick in dps players queuing as healer with their dps gear and either soft-afking or outright afking, and I think that’s kind of an unfortunate thing to get after sitting in queue for 10 minutes.

i play A LOT of solo shuffle cause i think its the best way to play alts, and this happens a ton.

its lame. winning just 3 games is a big bonus to honor gained so even if you get the “bad player” you should try because if you win 1 game with them if you can because that means you can get 4 wins.

i completely geared a mage in honor gear after a day of casually quing late at night, its a fun game mode for casual play.

I think wow casual pvp needs a leaver penalty more than just not being able to q if solo shuffle is to work long term. If you afk, and leave a lot you get put in with other afkers and you all can afk your way to 50 honor :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s because of the weekly quests. They give a good chunk of conquest and honour for just participating.

I queued solo queue on my hpal when it was ~190ilvl despite obviously losing most of the games simply because just participating and completing quests was well worth my time, especially when queues are instant.

they should do it honor gained in solo shuffle rather than rounds played. Just like the other quests.

1000 honor for first quest, 2500 honor for the 2nd. easy.

edit: meant to add to this comment not make another.

A couple weeks ago I used the site Drustvar to look up the percentage of solo shuffle rounds won by a healer I saw repeatedly afking through solo shuffle matches and it was like 23%; it’s possible that they weren’t afk for every single match but I wouldn’t be surprised if you could win almost a quarter of the time while afk, because every once in awhile there will be really well-geared dps on your team and poorly geared dps on the other team.

They were also playing a holy priest so whenever they died, their teammates still had another 15 seconds to kill someone due to Spirit of Redemption. In fact most of the healers I’ve seen employing this method of afk honor farming were holy priests (but that might just be because everyone is playing a holy priest now)

I’m pretty sure you only get 50honor if you lose every round but I could be wrong. Only point of reference I have is losing the first round of a match because of an undergeared healer that instantly exploded, and then he immediately left causing it to end.

But like other people have pointed out people might do it because of the weekly quests only requiring you to be “present” for the rounds, and doesn’t require wins. Adding honor gained requirements would fix that problem since you would 100% want to try to get all wins to speed up the process.

Been griefed several times today by players that are just there for the quest, so they don’t heal or wall, just run out and die to get it done as fast as possible. Total waste of everyone’s time.

Why isn’t this quest based on winning? Even if you’re awful you’ll win a few.

I would fully support a lockout lasting the entire week for anyone found to be afking or intentionally throwing in Solo Q. Not only can the Q be super long as dps, it drains all the fun out of it when someone is throwing. Probably the most toxic player activity I’ve seen in this game to date tbh.

Yeah but how would you implement that without itself being open to griefing? Better to just fix the incentives—the current quests are aligned with the behaviour you’re seeing.

yah is because of weekly quests

they don’t want to participate or have bad gear and don’t want to waste any effort on a badly balanced activity but still want the rewards

they get about 100 honor for zero wins but they finish the weekly for pretty much zero effort and tabbing out to watch something else while the match happens

bliz is stuck in a hard place cuz they don’t balance the gear so if they require a certain amount of wins for the weekly a gigantic chunk of badly geared players will just not bother anymore

be a lot easier if bliz just normalized gear and borrowed power in solo shuffle, would minimize afk’ers because everyone would feel like they have a chance instead of using normal raid gear against mythic players

doesn’t matter what you do, peeps that hate the activity but want the reward can always just run in and die or cast stuff that is pointless while they are barely paying attention or whatever else

designing rewards and systems to the detriment of the regular player experience to stop a little bit of afk’ers or bots isn’t remotely worth it

normalize gear to 249 pvp ilvl, so you can benefit from full honor set and have the ability to compete to get it. then helps you step into competitive arena

Saw a mage with a R1 title AFK every round in a Solo Shuffle. Ruined the entire match for everyone.

In Classic WoW you get suspended for AFKing BGs, I reported him but I doubt he’s getting suspended.

Why is there a tank mode now?

For druids and pallys

so you’ll regret queueing :frowning:

Would you rather play against tank/dps/healer?

I mean as long as blizz doesnt give af about moderating their game this, along with all the other ToS violations will continue to happen. And I’d afk too if my only way to gear up had no normalized IL lmao like if you’re a 226 returnee you’re literally trolling your teammates less by staying in shadowmeld at the entrance instead of trying to do anything.

I get it blizz always does the opposite of what makes sense, but at least they could try normalized IL in shuffle since it’s not a ranked mode anyway.

There’s something in between shadowmelding in the entrance and int’ing into the enemy team completely los’ing your healer.

Yeah a major ilvl gap is a problem but I can honestly say the biggest issue is compounding an ilvl gap with ridiculous decision making

Just put the sub back up a couple days ago after about 8 or 9 months away. Honestly sure half the games are kinda trolling but I’ve low key been having a blast just ripping these for some honor grind.

If they did decide to just make the solo Q arenas a set iLvl I bet these would become super popular. Great for returning players to start to get a little feel again and great for those new to arena to get an idea of what it feels like. Every once in a while you get some really good games going too.

Either way glad they finally added something like this. Even if not exactly what people wanted, they at least threw a bone
