probably the single most annoying thing I’ve been seeing this week. why are people afraid to attack a healer on alliance? on horde we kill healers in seconds. when I play alliance the healer is literally the last to die on enemy team.
its not rocket science at all. kill the healer and your team has much better chance to win. this seems to be like a foreign concept to alliance. game after game healer on horde just hanging out free casting until literally oom.
why?
lets here the snarky replies from the genius out there
thats the tilting part. you will notice that nobody is hitting the healer and he/she is freecasting… so u go to polymorph it… but the poly is immediately broken because they choose to hit it now that its a sheep
Yeah that’s frustrating I do agree. Give it some time and people will get accustomed to bgb. I think as you creep higher and higher mmr we will see better gameplay.
People aren’t attacking the healers because its been a well known strat for 20 years that you cc the healer and kill the squishiest target that doesn’t put you in bad positioning or that will shut down their damage.
Sometimes the best target to attack is the healer, usually it’s not.
The real problem are the people who tell others to focus the healer and that’s all they concentrate on. Those players lose games and have 30% win rates, you ignore those players and use your brain instead
As a healer I promise you, the scary teams aren’t the ones who run me down, it’s the ones who know to cc/interrupt me and kill my friends
Unfortunately, the default ui does not clearly identify healers. The only way to tell who is a healer is by reading the tooltip when you mouse over someone, or by watching which spells they cast. This can be hard to do in a big teamfight, so players without addons sometimes cannot even find the healer.
Some addons let you add a cross symbol to the nameplate of healer specs, like BetterBlizzPlates. This should really be a default ui function though
Yes and no. They changed it so healers can’t really be soloable like around wrath, before that you could likely 1v1 any healer as long as you had gear.
With heals being so absurdly high now though, definitely better to cc chain them so they can’t get their 100% HP heals off. Healers complain all the time about cc chains but it’s literally the main way that dps gets kills so, they need to get used to it lol
The healers don’t die at all nowadays . Not sure what changed , did they nerf damage in PvP in the last few months or what but things look much worse than season 2 . Healers are literally immortal now
I think one issue is that instinctively people know if they go for the healer, they’re about to spend the next 15-20 seconds cc’d or die in quick stunlock.
Going for the healers means overextending a lot of the time and with the state of cc and imbalance, it’s not exactly a fun idea. So I guess people would rather just push buttons and see numbers instead of being locked out of their character.
people dont hit healers the right way. thats the problem.
using stuns at wrong time (trying to stun the healer while they are at 100% hp etc)
bursting into their defensive walls
diminishing return / small stuns used at wrong time
not using kick / silence / boop etc
list can go on and on
i cant tell u how many times im healing and im getting my brains bashed in, it makes it hard to heal my team cuz i gotta heal myself. i cant heal because im being pressured, stunned, silenced, kicked, booped, gripped, snared.
meanwhile enemy holy priest is sitting over there spamming heals not even being touched once. hes not being damaged or CC’d. great just great. thanks team
Because, if you target healers, it stops them from healing others, helps your team, means you know what you are doing but… Doesn’t get kills. People want to see their toon leading in something. When you attack healers, you will usually lead in HKs and be a good player but its not a shiny object.
So when you lose a BG in 5 minutes but the leader in damage and kills is on your team by a lot… That is the worst player in the BG.
Luckily I avoid most of that…Since I’ll cap/babysit a flag, or a cart while my ‘teammates’ venture off into the roads…After a few minutes when they realize what’s going on they have some ‘encouraging words’ for me…
