That wasn’t the idea of warmode in the first place, the devs never said warmode is to pvp players at your level.
WPVP will never be balanced, at one point you’ll bully people 2-3 level below you, or get ganked by 2 dudes leveling together, or get 1 shotted by rogues waiting for you to get low.
Ah weird. I’ve popped on warmode with all of my alts in the last month but it just occured to me it might be because they’re allied race alts. Maybe there is a certain level limit before you can turn it on.
OP said being gang ganked by similarly leveled people wasn’t an issue. He actually offers a decent solution to keep world pvo engaging for people who are leveling.
If you’re going to use that as your analogy, you’re saying that it should be OK to drink and drive whenever you feel like, but only if you hit people who are equally as drunk as you.
What we’re saying is that there’s two sets of roads: one for drunk drivers and one for sober people. If you don’t want to risk someone that’s way more drunk than you hitting you, stick to the sober roads.
Pretty much this. If you want to only PvP with people your level, then recognize the constraints of Warmode and only turn it on when you’re maxed, because, surprise surprise, most people who have it on are max.
If you want to battle people your level before 120, queue for battlegrounds or accept the risks that come with warmode.
I don’t care about getting ganked by players at my level. It happens all the time to my main.
I’m not here to point fingers and say that alliance only gank us in groups of 5+
The horde does it too
The point is that this a feature that I am being denied in the game because someone wants to be a tool and ruin someones day because there are no consequences for these actions.
The point of being able to turn on warmode at lower levels (you get the option as soon as you unlock battlegrounds at level 10) - is so that you can, if the opportunity presents itself - such as mixed questing areas like ashenvale - pvp with players at or near your level.
Instead you just get a bunch of level 120 meglomaniacs with superiority complexes inconveniencing your ability to play the game and enjoy a FEATURE OF THE GAME that we paid for.
I’m sorry but turning off warmode is just giving in to people who have issues.
There are other games that actual penalize this type of behavior, and some of them are MUCH harsher than what I proposed.
Kill once, no matter. Kill multiple times and be fined automatically, the fine paid to the victim. The more times you kill that player the higher the fine will become. And they should get xp, so players who are camped and killed will continue to level up and earn gold at the same time.
At least people have an out these days with how wm works. Back in the day of pvp servers you would have to try and leave the area which usually meant spawning 20yds from your corpse multiple times until you got to the nearest town. God help you if they killed the flight master.
The solution, back then, was to start another character and play for an hour. Hit level 10 or whatever and log back to your previous toon. We only played 7-24 hours per session back then, though.
This idea isn’t going to received well. When WoW’s players say “x ruined world pvp” what they mean is that it prevents them from ganking as many lowbies.
It is just what WoW pvp is. You gotta accept it or turn off warmode. That’s your only options.
