Penalties For Killing Lowbies

There needs to be penalties for camping and killing low level players on a max level toon. Especially when they fly around your body waiting for you to release just so they can kill you again - and then suddenly you have a 1 minute + resurrection timer just to find out they are still there. Forcing you either just go do something else on another toon - ask for help - or bring your main out there to attempt to discourage them from continuing. Druids running through camps moonfiring every single PC they see.

Do not come at me with ‘turn warmode off’ - I do not want to turn it off, I love the IDEA of warmode - being able to PvP against the other faction of characters AT MY LEVEL. I enjoy that level of immersion of having a fight with the other faction when they are questing in the same ‘PvP’ theme’d zone such as Ashenvale. I would not even care if I got ganked by a bunch of alliance as long as they were around the same level as myself.

There is absolutely no reason why there is not a penalty for this stupid behavior - it accomplishes nothing for them, there is no gain whatsoever other than the sick satisfaction that they annoyed and one shot another player because they are garbage at actual challenging PvP.

I have resorted to parking my main near my alt while she levels so that when they start camping a low level quest hub - I can swap over and murder them; but I should not have to do this, and Blizzard should just discourage the behavior entirely.

If you come in here defending the behavior or just saying turn warmode off - then I’m going to assume that you are the same type of lowlife who has nothing better to do with their time.

Proposed idea??

If you kill several players who are significantly lower level than you in a somewhat mild timeframe (5-10 minutes?), you are debuffed with a crippling 30 minute curse that makes you able to be killed even by level 1 players. The system only counts these kills against you if you are the one who initiated combat / struck the first blow.

The first attack rule will help prevent low level players from purposely antagonizing higher level players just to get them penalized.

Does that sound harsh? No - it’s not - because you can choose not to be this kind of tool. Just like you can choose not to drink and drive, you can choose not to be a butt and grief low level players.

ADDITION — Because no one reads the replies

The loudest ones who are constantly replying with the same exact response like a broken record player don’t see just how many likes and agreement that I am getting from this. Hopefully someone from Blizzard actually reads this and decides to see if they can do something about this and deal with the people who actively participate in this kind of gameplay.

What I experienced was not PvP - it was griefing - I should not have to lose use of a feature of this game that I paid for because there are people with delusions of superiority and dominance complexes.

You’re all quick to say the same thing over and over again like some kind of brainwashed cult, but no one has actually given me an actual argument with any information that is factual in contradiction to what I’ve proposed; No one has given me any reason why this SHOULDN’T be a thing - because you can’t come up with one; because there isn’t one - there is no incentive, benefit, reward, or quest that condones or actively requests that you participate in griefing other players.

For the vast majority of you; you don’t indulge in this type of griefing behavior, so why do you care if they are penalized?

If you don’t want the penalty - don’t bully characters who are vastly under your level.

I would have agreed before war mode. But now that we have war mode and you can just turn it off I’m sorry but it’s all on you. The reason I say that is because if you willingly turn warmode on you’re basically telling every other player out there that you are okay with being ganked otherwise you would have left war mode off

You didn’t read the post. I like warmode - I want to be able to pvp against players at my level. Turning warmode on does not mean I want to be camped for over an hour by a single player who has nothing better to do but waste the time that I pay to play this game.

I think this is a solution that doesnt kill the spirit of world pvp

Turn off warmode and when you’re max level turn it on.

I fixed it guys, don’t worry.

Turn warmode off or park your level 120 close by . Ive protected my alts many times , often with success in camping the ganker . I’ve protected Honor Hold many many times .

Just the fact that you’re against simply turning wm off when you cant deal with gankers , shows me you should just turn it off .

Edit: i forgot to say : you’re still gonna get ganked at lvl120 5v1 because of CTA quests , which will feel just like now , unfair , which is what wpvp is and why i tend to stay far from it most of the time !

I have warmode off, and unlike you, im not scared to post on my main.

In the past at least, killing lobbies does not reward an hk to your record - that was the ‘incentive’ not to bother. It can still be fun though.

I doubt any realistic penalties would bother those who are seriously into ganking.

Scaling (health, effective iLvl) might be a better solution.

The system does need an invulnerable timer, meaning that for a short period of time you cannot be attacked or attack for say one minute after release

This would allow low level characters to leave the area if they choose and stop the camping!

I pay to play this game. The players who do this intentionally to grief are not only wasting my time, but are wasting my money.

Get out of here with the turn warmode off crap. Anyone of any level should be able to enjoy warmode - regardless of where they choose to quest.

There’s absolutely no reason why this should not be implemented and anyone who is against it is one of -those- people.

I ignore grey level players when I’m traveling around on my main.

I do not get any enjoyment from killing someone who can’t put up a fight.

I don’t pay attention what character I have selected. You’re just a waste of time and energy. Go somewhere else.

I think the solution to the OP’s problem is just turning off WM. However, is it really PVP, one shotting an enemy 100 levels lower than you and then camping said enemy?

I dont think they should nerf players for killing lowbies.

There should be a bounty system that will incentivize world pvp among players at max level. If players that were killing lowbies were marked lower level players could avoid them and max level players could hunt them. This would quickly weed out the people are are just ganking to grief. It would also be a great way for players that are awesome at PVP to be able to start fights with the opposing faction.

If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

No - turning warmode off should not be the solution because I would LIKE to pvp with people AT MY LEVEL.

You are correct, it is not PvP at that point, it is griefing. Wasting my time and money.

You all have got to realize that when this happens to you, they are literally wasting your money you spend to play this game - or the gold that you farm to buy tokens.

So is your post yet here you are and you’re still answering me.
I’m not the one complaining about PVP in a pvp environment when there’s a simple solution to it.
You’re just attention seeking. Go somewhere else.
