WoW looks beautiful on my retina iMac, but it just can’t handle Ardenweald. I know nothing about hardware really, so just looking for something I can buy that will run Ardenweald at max settings.
Do I need to spend $2-$3k? Or is there something out there for $1k? Thanks!
You need to provide your screen resolution. i5-11600K should be able to handle anything when it comes to CPU.
Examples for GPU:
RTX 3060 Ti ($399) = 1920x1080
RTX 3070 ($499) or RX 6700 XT ($479) = 2560x1440
RTX 3080 ($699) or RX 6800 XT ($649) = 3840x2160
You need one tier higher card if you wanna push high frame rates.
My spec can handle 2560x1440 Level 10 MSAA 4x 100+ FPS
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
Corsair H150i Elite Capellix
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master
G.Skill TridentZ Neo 32GB DDR4-3200C14 kit (running at 3666mhz)
Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC
Also, power supply requirements increases with higher end graphic card.
RTX 3060 Ti = 600W
RTX 3070 = 650W
RTX 3080 = 750W
We bought my wife’s back in February I think it was and spent about 1600. We ended up going with a custom build from a company simply due to availability.
She ended up with:
AMD 5600x
3060ti
16 gigs 3200 ram ( can’t remember the brand exactly. Ripsaw I think)
750w PSU
500 gig N.2 SSD + 2TB HDD
Liquid cooling and I have no clue what the case is but it seems to work well.
Honestly, I’d just wait the coming years to get hardware. You’ll have to spend a ton today to get slightly better performance.
AMD and Intel are going to come out with baller CPUs and GPUs in the coming years. Also AMD is looking to update the graphics stack in general. This is going to be some of the biggest leaps you’ve seen in decades. If devs make use of it or not is yet to be seen.
Yeah it’s hard to give suggestions when this is the equivalent of ‘my car isn’t working what could it be?’
There is an entire list of things that could be wrong. Need narrow down some.
You can still run max settings just reduce the resolution… maybe you are running 2160 go down to 1440 or 1080.
I am running 1440 max settings no problem but I would say without knowing what you have or resolution it’s difficult to offer advice.
