Paying with Bitcoin

Is there any plans for blizz to accept paying for subs with bitcoin? or is there already a way to do that?

I don’t think they directly take it but the crypto card through one of the crypto exchanges (I can’t remember which) lets you pay in crypto… although I think you’re charged tax on it in some way idk how that works.

Like the card takes the crypto, converts it to w/e currency, then gives that to the place.

Most likely no. Cryptocurrency is a very dynamic form of money that continues to behave in an unpredictable rate. To Blizzard, the risk is not worth it.

Yet.

If Blizzard has any sense they’ll steer way clear of crypto.

Why not magic beans?

Magic beans would be the better investment.

Maybe try paying with Bored Ape NFTs.

Bitcoin isn’t backed by any assets and is effectively unregulated.

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are pretty similar to an elementary school food exchange between children. You can trade the food around, but cashing out is extremely difficult.

Remember the guy who bought a pizza with bitcoin? And now that same amount is worth millions of dollars?

Don’t be like that guy

I remember one guy tossing a hard drive with BTC on it, then all of a sudden one bitcoin was up in the millions.

He went to the junkyard to scavenge for it.

Sorry, no, Blizzard doesn’t accept your weird, imaginary digital Monopoly money.

Blizzard is only interested in real money.

They should add an in-game crypto currency. One day you login and it’s worth 500 times it’s value and you can’t help but use the term “bruh” when talking about it. The next day it’s almost worthless, then it goes back up but you get scammed out of it by someone pretending to be a tax collector.

I know nothing about crypto other than most of it is a scam of some sort, but if you had have currency, if there is a way to get it into Paypal, you can use Paypal to pay Blizzard. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/31226

Yeah, you convert your bitcoin into actual money and then pay with the actual money.

Bitcoin’s still a thing?

Looks like it. And they are still worth $50k’ish US each.

Neither Amazon or Steam directly accept Bitcoin. You have to buy gift cards through 3rd party sellers to use crypto at those retailers

Then I’m thinking some indie developers take in that form. Amazon uses purse(dot)io to manage crypto between paying customers.

Whoops.

I think bitcoin had lost alot of value so i would assume they would not want it
