Pay to win

To complete raids and mythics, do i need to pay gold to get into LFG premades? To break past the hard stuck 1200 MMR in R Blitz and Solo, do i need to instal 3rd party software and pay someone in gold to get carried? Is there any chance for average players to succeed in this game or is this just a pc version of a phone p2w game?

Wow isn’t p2w. Anyone who says so or thinks so hasn’t played an actual p2w game. You can pay for carries and stuff but you can get all the rewards without paying in game or irl money for a carry.

You cannot buy m+, pvp, or raid gear/achieves from the estore. P2W games have the option to buy character power items on the estore. You can’t do that in wow.

You can pay for convenience if you don’t have time, the skills, a guild/group to play with, but that doesn’t mean it’s p2w. You can still do all the stuff without being boosted/ carried. Just because you can buy boosts/carries doesn’t make it pay to win. If you HAD to pay to do m+, pvp, and raids, then it would be p2w. You don’t have to pay anything to do those content so it’s not p2w.

Any game that is multiplayer will have some sort of player sourced boosting/carrying market since people want rewards and people who are skilled enough want to make in game currency or irl currency. Simple economics. There’s a demand so supply will happen.

You say average players.

Are you suggesting that guys who are average at baseball should be able to succeed in the Major Leagues while continuing to be average?

What are you winning?

I bought wow tokens to get carried in legion for the aotc mount, mystic elderhorn. I may have paid to win. That’s my dirty secret.

I once paid 50,000 gold to get a flying moose mount from Hellfire Citadel. What did I win?

You seriously going to compare a casual MMO, a computer game that caters to casuals exclusively with M+ who all swear they only have 12.5 minutes a week to play because their lives are so full…

to Major League Baseball?.

That’s… No, I don’t have words for that.

Almost anything you want can be bought with gold, and Blizzard sells gold, so yes, you can absolutely pay to win.

None of that is pay to win.

Paying to get carried in content that’s long been cleared ain’t pay to win.

It’s not required to pay for carries and boosts. You can still do the content without paying for a boost or carry. Just because boosts exist doesn’t mean it’s p2w.

I can complete content, you’re right.
Most of the playerbase cannot do all the content.
Or half the content.
60% of m+ enjoyers were under 1600 DF S3, and all seasons before that.
The game is heavily enthralled in pay2win.
You’re not winning hearts and minds with any argument.

I mean you’re allowed to have your opinion even if it’s wrong. I haven’t bought a wow token and I get atoc, ksm, even ksh just fine.

That’s awesome; allegedly you and I don’t buy content. We’re so special.
The game is pay2win all the same.

? This is literally p2w. You can do the same thing in p2w, they just take a very long time. Just like WoW.

It’s been p2w lite since WoD with token.

You should try hardcore self found if that bothers you. Imo it’s the most fun version of the game.

No it’s not p2w since you don’t NEED to pay to do the content you want. You don’t NEED to pay to do m+, pvp, or raids. It’s players providing the boosting not blizz saying ‘here buy this and you’ll get a free m+,pvp, or raid achieve, gear or whatever’

There is no pay to to win. As soon as you pay to “win” you become a loser, and losers can’t be winners.
