Pay To Win Player Provided Services

Pay to win services such as M+ selling and arena selling should NOT be allowed in a monthly sub MMO.

We are all paying per month to attain and sustain these ratings, the fact that Blizzard constantly undermines that by either neglect or intentional allowance is unacceptable.

Either for IRL money or game gold, these services should NOT be allowed.

And exactly how would you go about stopping something that Blizzard has already said they don’t endorse and won’t support? Even if you just ban anyone who mentions “boost” in chat, all that will happen is it will move entirely off line into Discord and third party sites that most likely will do it for real life cash instead.

There isn’t really a realistic solution to this one.

The only solution I could think of is making M+ level gear more accessible like it used to be before M+. That would discourage players from P2W since it’s so easily accessible, but that would also piss off a massive portion of the playerbase.

Gold is supposed to be traded. It exists as a currency and people can do whatever they want with it. Blizz can’t ban anyone for doing what’s perfectly allowed in the game and players have been doing since vanilla. Even in the olden days paid carries still existed. Guilds and raiders need gold, and purchasers are lazy. Supply and demand.

Whether you run with a regular group or you sign a check so they let you tag along it amounts to the same thing and isn’t against the rules, even if there’s no sense of honor in it.

There’s just nothing that can really be done. Blizz can and has tried to curb the advertisement spamming, if that gets too much you’ll be written up. But they can’t tell people how to use their gold or how to run content.

you also forgot the crafted legendaries that just conveniently cost around the same as a token, Mr. OP

The same way they deal with botting and selling accounts? It’s really not difficult. Kiting should be illegal. Regardless if it is for free or a fee.

Either program a way to make it not possible or ban it.

You do realize it’s the players setting those prices, right?

No you are paying for access to the game. Nothing more. What you choose to do with your access is then up to you.

have you forgotten even Blizzard’s Co-Leader Mike Ybarra has openly advertised that he was selling carries for the Sanctum of Domination raid. Blizzard will never condemn the practice when they are also a part of the machine.

Easies solution is just give them a side tab to advertise in, but that might cause them to loose out on sells, so it has to be right in your face.

That was an argument 10 years ago when they were the only kid on the block and could afford to monopolize the game and concept.

Not the case anymore, they are hemorrhaging players in every fashion. People have always had an issue with selling of carries market, gold or not, when you sell gold for game time, it is inherently condoning pay to win unless you halt the service selling.

I get buying a token if you make an alt on another server to play with your friends, but buying 10 tokens to buy a 1800 arena rating is stupid and should not be allowed.

Those ten tokens per carry are not worth the millions of players you lose due to your crap integrity Blizzard.

It’s still the case though. Your sub allows access that’s it. Arguing otherwise is the same as saying that because I pay the same monthly sub as a gladiator I deserve the title even though I don’t pvp much and when I do I’m not good at it.
Having a sub only entitles you to access. That’s it.

I disagree if it’s for gold.

No one tells me what to do with my gold.

But if people were to just stop playing would Blizzard keep the game running?

Some people are good at PVP
Some people are good at PVE
Some people are good at AUCTION HOUSE
Some people are good at FARMING GOLD

Why would someone quit because someone else spends thier gold on something they don’t like?

That’s like quiting because of the existence of pet battles instead of just not doing pet battles.

Saying that it a circle, we give money to Blizzard that way they keep the servers up. If they are not making money then why keep the game alive? I am not paying to access their game, I give my money that way they can pay their own bills and continue to keep the game up.

Idk what point you are trying to make here.

We pay them (for access to the game) so they keep making the game while it’s profitable. Yea… And? What am i missing here?

Giving access is not enough to keep someone’s attention. You want to give them a service that also entertains them, and that why the game been loosing players. You can leave the door open, but there nothing behind the door then they not going to come back.

This is what I am replying to. I wanted to point out that I hope it pays more than just a key.
