Myu’s is saying I still have 12 points to gain in LW from Patron Orders. I have 5 Patron orders, and only 1 is for skill…and it needs Majestic mats. I log in to see what todays would give me. I was hoping it would be for points, so I can eventually unlock Advanced Scales tomorrow.
I could spend 7k to get 2 points, buying a Majestic Hide. But why should I?
I would suggest the following to change the system:
-
Wholly prevent the system from ordering what you do not have learned, or make it ONCE a week if the goal is to encourage learning of new patterns.
-
Increase the amount of Skill orders by 50%, and less the amount of other orders (Augment Rune, Moxie) by the same.
-
The system checks the price of mats, anything more than a set amount the NPC will provide.
Once you fall behind, cheap catchup orders start appearing. If you want to be a bleeding edge crafter, it’s going to be messy. If you don’t mind being a little behind the bleeding edge, things largely take care of themselves.

What? No, then you’re encouraging not expanding your profession at all to just get the cheap recipes.
That’s just not how it works. You get flicker or knowledge orders in addition to the current orders. Everyone gets the same amount of everything, and the flickers for catch up are a bonus. You don’t get all of them at once, though.
Didn’t someone already explain this to you when you made a similar thread. We fall behind cuz we skip some that are too expensive or we don’t got the recipe that unfortunatly gave knowledge points. They don’t 2 days later oh this persons behind we gotta give them cheap easy orders. I skip alot of expensive ones. We will always kinda be behind. Thinking oh today they are supposed to give me some easy kp and getting mad at rng that you didn’t accomplishes nothing
I think part of it is Blizzard trying to use FOMO in order burn gold/buy tokens. There are plenty of people willing to spend $20 in order to get a leg up.
However if you are willing to fight FOMO, you will get there eventually though probably a few weeks after those willing to throw piles of Gold at it.

Im sorry, guys. This system just…I frown every time I open it.
I mean, Im not feeling encouraged to expand my recipe collection as it stands, mainly because its just a waste no matter how I cut it. I might make profit if I go and buy this stupid haranir canopy bed this Public Order dude wants made…for 1,000g…oh excuse me 950g after the cut.
The in addition part makes it make a little more sense.
Probably but I was in a bad mood, and Im thick headed.

I am stingy in what I spend, so I just craft easy money makers at low levels to get some AH gold, and don’t take the bait that is high-cost epic patron orders.
My alchemist has made money from 3T health pots that require very little leveling. Not a ton of gold, because of the concentration used, but enough to say ok this is worth my while until I level higher in alchemy.
It all depends what your goals are. By staying frugal I don’t overspend and eventually make the gold I need for my sub cost.
Also take those augment rune patron orders they sell really well right now as raid opening tomorrow. Gauge your costs against getting that as a reward.
Sorry if this doesn’t address the topic accurately. I just figure getting all the recipes will fall into place eventually, and can make gold until then in ways that don’t make me go broke.
I think it would get abused if they could never give you a pattern you haven’t learned. Mat crafting alts that are just designed for concentration or multicrafting wouldn’t care and could just get stupidly cheap orders all the time.
As far as number 3, player economy choices would be hard to factor in, especially since people have wildly different amounts of gold. I don’t mind having 1 of the work orders be expensive, but 5 of them shouldn’t.
If you have a total of 8 patron orders, I think a reasonable break down is:
4+ that are guaranteed to be basic recipes that every crafter can make.
1-2 orders that are KP or additional recipe based that you have.
1-2 wild card orders that can be whatever.
Now I would like to know exactly why that Chemist Apron disappeared from my Patron Orders just now.
A thing I cannot make will stay up for two weeks, but something I can make will stay up for 12 hours? What the heck.

That is an extraordinarily bad take. Like you are absolutely bonkers out of your mind. Besides the fact that these items didn’t take away any skill orders from you:
- augment runes sell for more than 1k. You’re complaining about gold cost and you want to throw away gold?
- Moxie buys bags of materials, and as a LW you literally have the second best bag in the game. Your material bag has the majestic materials in it that you’re complaining about. And not just one, it has several (but random ones). And also species -specific materials. And also, as a cherry on top, it has a petrified root in it! You want to throw away moxie when that bag is easily worth 20k?
I’m sorry you don’t get to complain about gold cost when your solution is to throw away gold.

I don’t mind paying a few thousand gold per KP because you can make that back when you hit crafting breakpoints and can r5 a new item.
Resourcefulness procs also help with the cost.
Uh why would I spend 7k on a Majestic mat to sell an augment rune for 1k?
Obviously you wouldn’t do one that costs a majestic material. You didn’t ask that. You asked to reduce ALL of these by 50%
And you asked to reduce the thing that gives you majestic materials
What thing? The consortium payouts? Ive gotten no purple items from them. None. Except for that Gold Star item.
The idea is to sell tokens… buyer and crafter needing to spend them is the purpose of the system. Been that way since sl
I told you that you buy the bag with moxie from the supplies person.
That bag has:
- Majestic materials (multiple)
- Species specific materials
- 1 petrified root
Did you not read what I posted?
Oh, those.
I still have yet to earn enough Moxie to buy one. Because the system wants me to use moxie to buy recipies ill never craft but for patron orders.
So why would you ask to reduce your moxie then
