I was working my way through twisted corridors, solo on all layers as a mm hunter, and everything was going smooth till i encountered this boss on floor 18 on layer 8. The volley which appears to have a ~6 sec cd was hitting me for ~140k before unnatural power kicked in while i had 120k hp.
Is there some trick to this boss im not aware of? Im guessing with 3 ppl with interrupts it wouldnt be so hard i just dont have interrupts solo. I ended up just leaving after a few attempts as it was clealy impossible.
Anyone able to solo him?

I as of yet cannot solo this guy… He is WAY too over-tuned as opposite his reg Torgast counterpart. He has 3.1 mil hp, and as a BM hunter I should be able to take this boss out easy peazy lemon breezy right? WRONG!!! (Insert obligatory Robin Williams Genie voice here). I am getting auto attacked for almost 40k by aoe, my pet is getting 2 smacked (and yes im using a turtle here).
Blizzard, it seems in my opinion… is just twiddling their thumbs instead of looking into legitimate complaints that it is impossible to solo this boss.

It’s so random that it probably isn’t worth their time looking into it. This isn’t some daily or weekly lockout, where you get to this boss and gloriously fail and you’re done with Torghast until it lets you back in.
Also there’s no way to determine which powers players will get and what builds they’ll assemble by the time they reach this boss, how do you tune for something that is never the same way twice?
The Smoke Bombs you buy off the vendor can help you cheese them.

just did this guy as a DH tank in twisting corridors layer 8 final boss. I had 700k health and got 1 shot for 3 pulls in a row before I was able to down it on the 4th pull. Had 2 others with me 1 dps 1 healer and they both would get 1 shot at the start so they stayed out of it. At 700k hp and every cd I could get plus some sick anima powers I was able to down him.
Just ran into this abomination as the final boss in TC layer 8. Completely unkillable on my Demo lock.
Had 140k health (taking every health increase offered and no health reduction powers or debuffs), felguard with over 1.5mil. Was using my cc on rotation l to interrupt Darkbolt Volley every opportunity. But was just impossible to kill it because even with curse of tongues and the cast speed slow crown power, there was no way to interrupt every cast of volley. Especially as the cast speed continues to ramp faster as the fight goes on. And if even one volley went off it would still one shot me.
If I’d had the luck from my layer 7 run where I ended up with 300K hp and magic damage taken reduction power, it MIGHT have been doable. If I’d gotten literally ANY other boss I’d have been able to finish it. But this as the final boss on layer 8 is a complete no go. Tried another run and low and behold got them as the final boss again. Fortunately I saw them as the preview at the broker and was able to just leave then and there. Saved a few minutes of frustration. But yeah think I’m done with TC for a while.
It’s not just about raw hp, it’s also about damage reduction.
This is why the Obleron Versatility power is actually one of the strongest things in TC.
TC is always about stacking defensives once you’re past like layer 4 or 5. 140k hp with no other defensive powers is… not gonna cut it verse a lot of things.
The guy claiming he was getting 1 shot with 700k hp was lying.
The only other way to survive stuff is to kill it before it ever hits you, and that generally requires either an infinite CC combo, or the stacking damage, minus hp power and then killing the boss inside your stun window if any. (Which is how I did layer 8, I just stunned for 8 seconds and did 1million dps.)

I don’t know. As MM you stack tar trap and take the “cannot be targeted at range”. And then you can kill anything, cause it cannot touch you.
Stand at max range and keep it in the trap. Use Bursting Shot and Binding Shot to reposition if necessary.

yeah, but the problem is you have to have the pray that RNG decides to like you enough to actually find those defensive powers. On that 140kHP run my lock only saw maybe 2 or 3 common (3%) vers powers and I took every one of them. Barely found any HP buff powers except outside of the singles and a triple from a rare.
On the Layer 7 run just before it, I was swimming in hp and defensive/mitigation powers, but got a faceroll snooze floor 18 final boss where none of them were needed. If I’d had good luck in either being offered useful defensive powers OR good RNG with a not horrendously overtuned final boss, it wouldn’t have been a problem.
Something being legitimately challenging is one thing. But having the challenge level being entirely artificial and based 500% on pure RNG is hands down the most frustrating aspect of Torghast in general and TC specifically.
You guys are running Twisted Corridor?
It’s not really worth running now.
That’s not entirely accurate. Some things will still hit you at range through that because they aren’t targeted directly at you but still are aoe.
Dark volley hits through the shroud (cannot be targeted at range). I know because I had that anima power
and I had the 90% tar trap slow. I made some progress by max ranging it but after he got to 10 stacks or so the slow trap wasn’t slow enough and I couldn’t keep kiting.
I haven’t found anything that hits my hunter at max range. Some AOEs hit at like 30yds. But you can easily out range that.
I haven’t faced Cromwell in a month or so. But they changed the cc in January or February to not have diminishing returns. Cromwell didn’t speed up at all last time I faced her.
Dark volley max range is somewhere in the ball park of 50-60 yds (beyond hunter max range).
weird cause I fought this guy layer 8 tc and destroyed him
5x immo stacks + grim tinder and growing inferno conduit and pew pew dead
and I had 390k hp
Dark Volley has a 40 yd range.
Marksman has a 40 yd range before Mastery. Currently my hunter sits at a 46 yd range without buffs or any additional mastery from anima powers.
You absolutely can, and I have, out range it. It s trivial if you apply your kit and use it.
Ramp up your stamina, defensive anima powers and stun/interrupt immunities and those powers that make you hard to target. Stack that versatility power. Don’t skip mobs/rares/chests on your way up.
