Pathfinder

Never posted anything on here, and it’s not like Blizzard will ever see this or care if they even do, but I just think this pathfinder achievement is nothing but a turnoff for the game.

I quit when MoP came out, so back when flying was allowed in all zones, and I came back a few weeks ago to find that I can not fly in any of the new content zones. To people who have been playing this for years and accepted this I’m sure it’s different, but coming back after so long to try the game out and having to run everywhere…at least for me makes me not want to play anymore.

For the people who are against flying, at all, what are your reasons behind you not wanting flying in the game? Why does someone else having a flying mount and using that flying mount matter to YOUR game play? How does that affect you in any way. I’m not trying to be smart here, I’m just trying to understand.

Now I could be alone in this, but I can’t stand being forced to quest in games. I can quest grind and rep grind all day, but as soon as it’s a requirement for something, other than short quests to gain access to dungeons or raids, I hate every second of it. I think a better alternative to pathfinder unlocking flying would be that without the achievement you move at 100% speed, Pathfinder I gives 200%, and Pathfinder II gives full 310% speed. What made Blizzard decide to remove a core function of the game? They want people to see all the content? Well, at least for me, I’ll level in dungeons and gear through Mythics and Raids. For me, this requirement is the sole reason why I won’t see any of the new content they come out with.

Thoughts?

Heck no. Can you imagine flying at only 100% speed for like 9 months? Nooo.

They need to take the timegate out, that’s it. Leave the exploration and the quests in, leave in the reputations even since we do those anyway, but take the long wait out and the vast majority of people will be happy.

I agree that at the very least take the timegate out for people who are still going to do it 100%

You have a whistle and 3 separate hearthstones to move around, you don’t need to fly. If you decide that you want it you can get it done in 1-2 months depending on your dedication.

People are still split on PF so no not everyone has accepted it. We’re constantly making suggestions on how to improve/remove it on the forums but Blizz ignores everything so it’s more just people venting.

The 2 biggest issues for people who are ok with the idea of an achievement to get flight but would like to see some changes are the long wait for flight to actually unlock and the rep requirement.

Not a fan of your idea of different speeds but I have seen similar ideas posted so you’re not alone

If you do a search for Pathfinder you’ll find tons of threads with ideas, suggestions, and lots of bickering

Pathfinder is great. Account wide flying without paying a ton of gold.

Every bit of content in WoD, Legion, And BfA is available without flight.

In the spirit of obvious rhetorical statements.
There are also no ACTUAL gameplay issues with flight being available.

PF would be alright if there was no part 2. Or part 2 opens flying for any newly added areas.

The time gating is complete spiteful garbage.

All this statement says to me is: if people don’t like to fly then all the content is still there for them to do from the ground while I fly.

That’s your opinion. Some people love to fly in this game and would rather not just teleport around.

Yes I can! It’s far better than just being grounded for those 9 months. In fact being 100% flying until you get pathfinder part 1 & 2 sounds like a really good compromise to me.

I dunno man, at that speed I’d just prefer running honestly. It would make questing take even longer.

You don’t need to comment yet here you are doing it anyway. Same with flying. We were given the ability to fly and then it almost got removed. Negative player feedback kept it alive but just barely due to pathfinder.

I love flying. Would I quit over it? Nope. Is it a convenience? Heck yes it is. It’s the best convenience.

You think being grounded, and having to navigate the terrain and mobs that can dismount you is faster… than flying at the same speed? That makes 12 kinds of no sense. Please logic this out for me.

Want =/= Need

Didn’t need yet another pathfinder post.

Pathfinder isn’t going anywhere. It was either Pathfinder or NO FLYING ever again. When will people understand this? They said in WoD that Pathfinder will be the way to unlock flying from there on out. Now, every expansion since then, they have done exactly what they said. They aren’t going to change it back to just paying for gold or unlocking it at max level etc. It will unlock in x.2 once you complete PF 1 and 2.

Just as an fyi, I love flying so yes, I will take pathfinder any day of the week over no flying. You now actually have to play the game and more to unlock something you really want. The horror!

Ground mounts are 200-some %. So yes, it is quite literally slower.

Man am I remembering wrong? I don’t recall my mount speed on the ground is 200%. Every time I’ve looked I’m at 100%.

I just looked at mine, I’m 220% on the ground in Highmountain, flying is 410%. I think 100% is base flying, before you get epic. Very slow.
