Let me start off by saying that I have been banned quite a LOT on the forums, and I’ve gotten into pretty heated discussions involving pathfinder. (check my post history lol)
So about 2 weeks ago, I sat down and decided to do Pathfinder. Not only did I acquire BfA’s Pathfinder, but I also got Legion’s AND the dreaded WoD Pathfinder. REMOVE THE TIME GATING FOR PART TWO
I don’t see how doing monotonous World Quests is “playing the game”. Some of the WQs are fun, I’ll give you that, but that fun quickly turns into frustration navigating these terribly designed landmasses.
My stance still stands. Pathfinder is extremely boring to do, the rep gains are so small that you feel like you accomplish NOTHING. World Quests should not be the only way to get rep, add ways for players to get rep at any kind of pace THEY want. As it stands now, it all seems done to bolster time played metrics.
FWIW: WoD’s Pathfinder was the easiest to do. It uses the old daily quest hub, so not only was it faster, but it was easier to navigate. The only thing that wasn’t that good was the Master Treasure Hunter, but buying a Treasure Map and using WoWhead took care of that.
TL;DR: I did what you told me to do. I went and got Pathfinder, it was boring and monotonous. Game needs more ways to get rep for the grind.
I’m NOT against Pathfinder, I’m against the time gating for part two and only one way to get rep. Remove part two, make it only Pathfinder. Add in more ways to get rep, such as dungeon tabards etc.
Patchfinder is not an endgame system and it doesn’t belong! No wonder the queues for BGs, dungeons, etc are so long.
Combine that with artifact essence and AP grinds and people can’t play alts. Expansions with patchfinder have been proven to be very alt unfriendly. Shocking…NOT.
I’m not against Pathfinder, I’m against the gating (10 months?!) and only ONE way to get rep. If we had tabards such as those in Cataclysm, and Pathfinder was just one part, these threads would cease to exist.
All kidding aside, I really do miss those tabards. It would give me a reason to grind dungeons again, which I actually like doing but have had zero reason to do so in BFA. Even Legion had a reason to a certain extent, but not BFA. I miss that, and the rep tabards would make it even better.
EXACTLY! Pathfinder needs to be tied to these kinds of grinds that you can literally finish as FAST as you want. Leave end game reps OUT of Pathfinder, and keep those reps the “grind”. Such as Waveblade Ankoan for example, these reps shouldn’t be tied to Pathfinder.
Rep grinds are a mechanically simple concept that requires little in development resources, but provides a ‘significant’ reason to play through a specific blob of content regularly.
why don’t anti-pathfinder players realize that there’s a lot of us out there that aren’t “old money”. I know for a fact I couldn’t afford to by flying for even 1/4 of my tunes that are eligible.
Pathfinder, while it is a PIA, is by far the most costs effective, alt-friendly method for achieving flying in this game, with todays inflation.
Are you in the 2 you count? I see you in every one of these threads too. I’m glad you’re constantly bumping the flying cause. Thank you for your service!
