Is the Midnight Pathfinder really as brutal as it appears to be?

I was confused since I was flying around fine, and I learned that it unlocks steady flight, which I haven’t used at all in years. I wouldn’t bother since it’s completely useless.
All you have to do is complete the main story line and explore all the zones?

No? Just do the campaign, fly to explore zones. I had it before I was even 90

All it requires is exploring all the zones and completing all the main storylines of each zone. That’s it.
It’s dead simple. Explore the map, and do the campaign.
