15… 15 topics, separate.
The only reason he’s suggesting this is because he’s lazy and wants everything handed to him on a silver platter. If you look at his post history, you can tell that he’s pretty much inept when it comes to basic gameplay functions and he can’t stand doing the dailies that are required for flight in BFA.
So naturally in 9.0 he wants Blizzard to implement a system where there is global participation for flying to unlock. That way he can sit back and put his feet up while everyone else puts in the effort to unlock flying.
Just don’t. He thinks every terrible idea that he vomits out will “increase subscriptions by millions.”
This is an amazing proposal. On behalf of the posters that actually care about the future of WoW, I just want to say thank you for all the time you put in to your suggestions, Rastlin. This game wouldn’t even be on the game radar without people that care as much as you do.
Thank you.
The current pathfinder is fine if they just allowed flying after part 1 and just give everyone 2 months to do it.
I actually am not wild about this one to be honest either. Group contributions never are equal and as many pointed out why should people make an effort to benefit a bunch of people who either have limited time or are lazy.
There’s a huge oversight in your idea though.
If this is a server achievement, region achievement, or even global achievement, this just opens it up to even more time gating.
Blizzard would just be able to slap a number where “reasonable” play for the population of the server/region/total global population would unlock it in X.2, but this wouldn’t account for some of those areas potentially having a smaller active population (and in the case of global, while there’s only one population to track, it’s a pretty large number crunch, and easy to screw up anyways).
The end result would probably be everyone getting flying in the achievement group at the same time, but likely after many of the players would anyways in the current system. And it’d pit the player base against each other for anyone attempting to do anything that’s not remotely related to the next step, turning the game into a lockstep of “work on flying or get flamed by everyone!”
I don’t think I can actually think of a worse way to implement flying than this.
Thank You for your support!

The fact is they already make us wait one year. So they already have “to much time gating!”
When they adopt my proposal (I am sure they will) we are looking at 3 or 4 months tops!

Or until after the expansion is over.
Or never.
You put far too much faith into a system that assumes that everyone is actually working towards the goal.
This would more than likely lead to a longer time gate than the current system.
Seriously.
This is just a bad plan.
If they pull another pathfinder in 9.0(which they will for sure) then I am gone and over with this. Enough is enough. Having waited this long, almost a year, just to be able to fly so you can do wqs in a somewhat reasonable amount of time is just way too long.
Just to be clear I don’t mind the concept of pathfinder. It’s the time gating I hate. A couple of months at most should be more than enough.
Pathfinder is crap.
Remove it and have flying at expansion release.
Requirements = Max level and $50,000 gold per character.
Wow I’m posting on a rastlin thread. Today is a special day.
I actually like the idea of more server wide things that we all contribute to. I don’t think is should be how flying is unlocked but I think k it would be cool to have meta meta achievements or something server wide
