Is it easy? You bet and that’s the actual problem. (Inb4 developer takes this out of context.)
It’s tedious just to grind the reputation. I actually like pathfinder. I like the fact you need to explore the zone, do the quests, and stuff. It makes complete and utter sense. That the fun part - reading the new story, exploring new vistas.
Revered grind? Boring and tedious. Sure it’s easy, sure you can do it within a month or two. Sure you should have it do done before part 2 comes out.
But that doesn’t change the fact it’s a tedious chore in a game where a lot of the systems including artifact, sorry azerite power is also added onto this as well reputation grinds to continue the war campaign.
World quests are not fun. They’re boring after a week or two and doesn’t make the game interesting. Reputation farming is a tedious chore and unless something is done to bring upon a reputation farming system that is actually engaging and fun.
I would like being able to champion factions in dungeons again, but make it require mythic +2 and above, with scaling rep. I’d also add this for rated BGs…somehow (/shrug)
That way, you could still grind out rep as normal, but if you wanted to expedite the process, you’d at least have a more difficult avenue to do so.
People like me who aren’t a fan of “forced” group content would like to tell you no, thank you. I already can’t craft anything in current content because of all this “hide the mats behind group content” garbage.
No. There a multitude of people who can’t/won’t/don’t want to do group content for their own reasons. WoW has been pretty decent at allowing players to play on their own for a while without having to be dedicated to it.
The past couple of expansions gating recipes and BoP crafting mats in group content is getting old though. I don’t want rep locked into that again.
How does championing factions for rep affect you? you can still do world quests and people who think world quests should have been a legion specific thing won’t have to.
Unless you also hate WQ in that case not sure what solo content you do since that is probably like 50% of endgame solo content. (WTB mage tower part 2 and class order hall type things specific to each class)
While fun Is subjective, I can see how running dungeons isn’t for everyone. No disagreement there from me.
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I’m full of bad ideas, perhaps this is one such idea! Although, now that you mention the crafting…it’d be awesome if crafters could make items and give them to their faction of choice in trade for reputation. Kind of like the contribution phase for warfronts. But make it a meaningful amount of rep, maybe 25 rep per turn in, which could be augmented further by racial traits/buffs.
From the very beginning of the game it was required to go into dungeons and raids for crafting mats and recipes/patterns/cuts/designs/etc. How is it any different now?
WoW is designed as an adventuring game, like in the books. And like in the books, your characters can have solo fun. But eventually your character needs to join forces with others to defeat the bad, get the reward, find the supplies necessary to continue the story.
If you didn’t want to do this, why play a game of this sort? There ARE single player RPGs where you can run around and do whatever you want and it is designed around that playstyle exclusively.
