So, is there really a good reason blizzard has to keep pathfinder in expansions as old as WOD?
Seriously, its just a bad quality of life decision to keep pathfinder in 5 year old content all it does is make it annoying to level in old zones.
nobody wants to grind out rep for 5 year old content, all legacy content should not require pathfinder to use flying mounts

It makes it annoying to level up in new zones as well. I don’t think blizzard considers annoyance to be a valid reason.
It is an old area, if you are only going to just level through there you don’t need flying really. Players went 9 months or so without flying in that content.
For the amount of time we get to fly in current content, if they removed the pathfinder requirement for old content then a whole lot of people wouldn’t bother doing it at all and would just wait. Waiting would mean they also didn’t level up their characters, which would mean less $$$$ for blizzard.

I don’t know about this, actually. But I do think that 2-3 expansions is a good amount of time to remove the flight restriction from pathfinder-locked areas. Probably three, IMO.
So when whatever follows BfA goes live, I think they should remove the Pathfinder requirement for WoD.

I completely agree. Leveling out of the content is easy and so fast only someone into self-torture and wandering around would waste their time getting Pathfinder in content that old.

There’s a mount attached Warlords Pathfinder. And they’re on this warpath of “run our content on the ground” so I doubt they’ll ever drop them.

Is there a compelling reason for them to expend limited development resources to go back and alter five year old content? Content that they are no longer charging for? Content that next to zero players are focused on?

Ehhh, it wouldn’t be that much of an expenditure. All you’d have to do is change the spells learned at level 90 for each class and make sure you include the passive that allows flight in Draenor.

Considering one of the main features in BFA is allied races- races where either you buy a boost (bonus money for blizz) or you level through old content (bonus time played/login numbers for blizz) i would say that the number is not “Next to zero”. In fact I would say it’s sort of important.
And since they have already been fiddling with older content (xp and other leveling adjustments) I think Blizz agrees there is a compelling reason.

If we don’t get to fly at all this expansion in the content we are currently doing, which is what it looks like if we do get an underwater patch. I am not doing pathfinder again anyway. I actually don’t know why anyone would considering we only got to fly for 3 months last one.
Your call, I suppose. I used Legion flying to amass a large amount of gold that made a good size dent in the expense of playing the game and buying the expansion, but YMMV.
I already made 15-20 million this expansion without flying. Most people in fact I imagine don’t rely on flying to make gold now.
The game is entirely different than legion in terms of world content.
Well, it depends on what you’re doing, I guess. Personally, I like zoning out and gathering while I watch TV. Looking forward to doing some more of that when I can fly.
You know what I never hear? Someone complaining about being able to fly in legacy zones. Like no one cares about “dur immersion” when it comes to leveling. Sorry rant off please continue . . .
