Do we have confirmation on what the requirements are? Would they still be the same as the three previous expansions?
I really don’t mind pathfinder, it is good to unlock flying for your whole account, but I really, REALLY hate the massive wait in between parts 1>2.
I would not mind a 2-3 month wait between parts, maybe even in X.1 we could have it unlocked, but it is getting to a point that the same copy paste expansion content just makes you not want to play if you are stuck on the ground for so long.

It’s still not known yet. We’ve only seen previews of Shadowlands, not the full details.
But Pathfinder’s been pretty consistent really. Exploration, finish campaign stories, revered with the new reps. I’d just expect that as usual. But it’s still following the same timeline too so the flying part won’t happen until 9.2. They said it’s mirroring Legion and BfA.

If it is exactly the same, this for sure is going to turn players away from the game, some forever, some between Part 1 and 2 being available.
I think Blizzard need to remember how many players left at the start of WoD, take the risk and announce it will be a shorter wait, or no wait, see the response from the no flyers and decide if there is less risk than current.

I’m willing to bet it will be the same
Pathfinder 1 unlocks flying in the starting zones.
Pathfinder 2 will unlock flying the the zones that are added later.
I’m not holding my breath, but we have enough time to kick up a stink and make them change it.

The flying unlock comes around 9.3

It is going to change because of the level squish alone. For better or worse no one knows.

It was stated at Blizzcon by Ion that it’ll be the same as it has been the last three expansions, so nothing is changing. Fine by me.

No it isn’t. No one has ever said it’ll be in five parts. I can sense sarcasm oozing from your post, but every thing you mentioned is definitely wrong, 100%.

Pathfinder is why I haven’t bought Shadowlands and might not.

Nah dude, there is at least 4 parts, 5th is a maybe.
I mean, it would keep the no flyers happy for us to stay on the ground until 9.3.5 wouldn’t it?

The massive wait between is when the expansion is at its best now people just fly from point A to point B and it makes the world feel dead that and the World PvP is always the best before part 2 comes along

They will never give specifics until almost the moment phase 1 is released. Specifics for phase 2, including the date of implementation, will be held off until a week or two before release, in order to get people to continue to subscribe under the mistaken assumption that it is coming sooner than it really is.

Or to get people to sign up, get everything done and stop their sub until it suits.
Like my 4 level 120’s, I have had nothing to do with them for like 2 months minimum, so I started alts and went back to get some old stuff done, I could very well have canned my sub 4 months ago when my main hit 445 iLVL, I had flying and got all my essences I wanted.
Which means I still would not be subbed since I have to wait until sometime in January for the next tier, I than push at the start like I always do on my main, this time farming M15 until I hit what I think is the highest iLVL I can comfortably get to, finish all the new stuff that comes out and call it a day until the next content release.
But than there are those who sub at the start, get P1 and call it a day until P2 is announced. that could be 10 months with no sub. That’s a lot of lost income.

As opposed to logging in, seeing the dailies aren’t near a flight point and logging off?
Or clicking the flight master whistle and going AFK?
Or jumping on a FP and going AFK?
Or not leaving the city because there’s no content worth travelling to?
I’ll take a convenient dead world over a cumbersome dead world any day.

Your acting like people don’t do this even with flight unlocked hell I do it so I can get a cup of coffee
Having Pathfinder/flying wouldn’t help you if you think there is no content worth traveling to.
Well thankfully the devs don’t agree with you since Pathfinder is going to be in Shadowlands
