I’ve already firmly converted to the “Flying or no buying” comity, I’ve waited my last seven months for something that adds so much to the game. If I want to be locked to the ground there are LOADS of games I can play. What’s worse than being gound bound on a flying mount is the craptastic dailies. “Go here and fill this bar, now go rescue baby turtles, now go kill the baby turtles”.
Is that addressed to my last reply to Gedpriest?
I didn’t reply to you?
I honestly don’t know, Melantin. You sometimes have a problem with your antecedents in replying on threads.
Clearly you weren’t around for the first half of WoD.
I was around during WoD; I just wasn’t on the forums during that time.
The game already had a “take a break” mechanic since Vanilla, after a certain amount of hours played, the game would automatically log you out and time you out, the days of throwing your life away to play WoW are long gone. The only plausible reason I can find to give us flying after a year is to artificially extend /played times, people underestimate how many more hours we had to put in just for traveling the convoluted terrain on foot.
This, right here, is exactly why Blizzard games are tanking! They are too dense to see it!
I didn’t , i have 9 of my alts up into naz / mech since I could fly.
This is one of the reasons for them wanting to remove flying period.
I wish I had enough to do in this game without leveling my alts. I have almost leveled them all prior to flying.
Beyond wrong
Pathfinder is the devs pathetic vengeful and small spirited slap back at players because 5 million unsubs in WOD and their bosses (the ones signing their paychecks) told them make the players happy to stop the unsubs.
Didn’t really work from my perspective with the nearly empty friends list since then.
Even the few who came back in legion and suffered another pathfinder along with me are gone since BFA.
The obvious answer it make a product customers want. It is clear to me that most players want flying, and despise pathfinder.
Adjust your design to work with your customers and they will be more likely to keep paying your paycheck.
All the touchy feely stuff to suit their “artistic” desire means nothing if it is “forced” upon customers.
Do something good and pleasing and you do not have to force players to do something.
Something as simple as 1 rep for each appropriate mob would have helped some,
Flying like ground mounts should be something you buy at levels 20 40 and 60 then buy fast and faster flying and done forever and everywhere in all future and old and present content.
Just do away with the flying issue, build worlds around that with reasons to do stuff, not to re earn stuff.
Same problem with having to keep unlocking higher ilvl azerite armor.
Such stuff never gains good will nor creates loyal customers.
I am all for that, but lets be realistic 5k gold is the equivalent to just having it at max level. If people ask for it for 5k gold then just go ahead and ask for it to be given at max level. If we are keeping up with in game inflation it would be closer to 50k since MoP, maybe even more.
What I want is path finder part 1, 100% completable from day one at max level, and no part 2. If there are new zones introduced latter then part 2 can be to fly in those zones.
I agree - and I disagree.
It would be valid to not have flying until you have experienced the current content. I full agree with that.
Where I disagree is with the timing of flying. To have it gated for a year is just pointless busy work. Flying should be available after you have done the full extent of current content. That is, Pathfinder part 1. If you are using the metric of “current content” there is no point extending it past that. IF new content is released, then again, no flying in the new zones until you have completed the new content. In other words, Pathfinder Part 2.
I am now in the mindset of unsubbing once I have completed Pathfinder part 1. I have plenty of alts to level but I see no point in doing the same content over and over while on the ground.
A real sense of danger - - NO a real sense of PITA. The zone stinks by the way. Broken Shore on steroids is all that it is.
Your title is wrong. I didn’t read your post, maybe later but the title is wrong.
Pathfinder exists because they turned flying into more of a piece of the game.
Gets people to play more and I suspect they’re working with a very limited budget.
Only gripe I have with PF2 is that, imo, they waited way too long to implement it.
I like Naz, Mechagon. I like most of the world except the cannibal zone, Nazmir because it’s gross.
So very, very gross.
There’s just not much reason to spend a lot of time ingame is all. Ah well. Maybe next expac.
Maybe not. Idk.
Pathfinder exists because Blizz wants players to earn flight again.
Like it was back before they started handing it out. Which in
turn caused players to expect it to be handed out every time.
Blizzard doesn’t want flying, or at least the people with authority who work there do not want it. They’d promised flying when 6.2 hit, but right before they released it they announced that they were no longer going to include flying in the game moving forward. This upset a lot of people and there was a big exodus of players so they decided instead to use it as a carrot.
a Sunday post designed to cause hate and discontent.
I’d pay 100k
