It’s the closest thing we have to a random sample of all wow accounts.
Paid?
Just because you own a bus pass doesn’t mean you own the bus.
It’s the only data we have unless Blizzard themselves releases it. Given the amount of traffic wowhead gets (bosses can have tens- to hundreds of thousands of kills logged to get the drop % of items), it seems like it’s a decent sample size.
According to https://www.exophase.com/game/world-of-warcraft-blizzard/achievements/ which is a site I’ve never heard of, the numbers are:
BFA P1: 40.33%
BFA P2: 33.91%
Broken Isles P1: 38%
Broken Isles P2: 37.7%
Draenor Pathfinder: 29.76%
Dragon Isles Pathfinder: 2.66%
edit: I guess that’s also only players on their site, which is only 3k players.
WoWhead I’m sure has a much larger number, though I’d say it’s likely biased towards completionists or at least players that tend to do more in the game. I don’t think all types of players would ever have a reason to create an account/profile on WoWhead, even if they occasionally look stuff up on it.
Using terms like this is asinine.
