I am a (somewhat) recent resub to BFA (Post 8.3) and the pathfinder achievements and requirements still baffle and frustrate me.
To start I understand they are put in place to make people experience the content on foot before flying over cliffs and around obstacles etc etc.
Why are they unrelenting though?
I last subbed in Cataclsym before BFA. So I cannot fly in WoD, or Legion. I did grind out BFA already. Let’s be real though, WoD came out Late 2014, so 5.5+ years ago. Why is flying there without ‘earning’ it so important. The bigger question I have is, why do I need to spend probably 2 work weeks grinding everything out like it was current content to fly there?
I don’t mind having to work towards it, I don’t want it for free. Keep the loremaster and exploration achievements. The Garrison quest line is fine too, but rep grinding for reps not used for anything, chest finding for $hits and giggles?
For Legion I just finished the Loremaster and Exploration achievements, I did my class hall quest line. I have almost 50 world quests in, but I am so bored with the content. I don’t want to run to 50 more world quests, flight whistle to a flight path to go to another, grind rep slowly slowly until I am finally done grinding it all.
I ramble a lot.
TLDR: As time goes on REDUCE (not eliminate) requirements for flying for old content.
TLDR IMHO: Your hard stance on “You can’t fly until you did everything this expansion pack had to offer for the first 2 large patches” probably deters more people from trying to experience your content than makes people want to see what they missed. Slow rep grinding is the worst, most boring, and least satisfying thing to do after the fact so hopefully by now you get the picture.
Sincerely, a fan who took a 6+ year break because of this bull$hit, who wished you’d take some time to consider your casual player base more.
PS Don’t play Classic anymore and don’t know why I can’t select any of my retail chars for my main.
