I expected flying by the end of March. I expected a lot more by the end of March.
Blizzcon should never have happened. Things should never have been announced.
I understand that working from home things can go slow but gezz what the hell.
I remember collecting azerite for way to long and now this anima bulsht is even worse. I’m sorry but after all these years i’ve played WoW, Shadowlands and the pvp is the worse i’ve ever seen. The Maw is terrible. The storyline has gone south.
Even by the time Blizzcons annoucements are here it just doesn’t matter now. Now we have valor again woppee More bs that we have to due just for better gear. This whole thing for Shadowlands that they have done and are about to do is not worth my precious time anymore.
Gb to this exp and maybe hello to the next one. I will see.
While my complaint is more about the whole video game industry, It does get a little annoying when things are announced so far ahead of time that the hype train doesn’t have enough fuel to get anywhere near release.
You expected it in March? Hang on a second…

Since the Pathfinder system came about in WoD, flight has generally opened up in the X.2 patch. Those are typically 7-10 months after the initial release of an expansion.
We’re four months into Shadowlands, and I don’t think I need to remind you how the timetable to just about everything has been messed up over the course of the last year.
While we don’t have an official date on Chains of Domination, I’m predicting sometime in April. At six months, that’s still going to be the earliest flight has been added into an expansion since WoD, and if it somehow doesn’t release until May due to a delay (not unexpected considering the state of the world), then it’s still on par for the typical wait. As far as patch count goes, it’s still going to be the earliest flight has been opened up since WoD.
Honestly, you should have had more realistic expectations.
With all that said, if you’re leaving then find a lowbie/new player and give them your stuff. At least make someone happy on the way out before sulking on your way out the door.
3 Months.
And yea, they said first major patch, that was expected to be 5-6 months after launch.
I work in IT for a large corporation. WFH has made our productivity skyrocket. Ive got more done in the past 12 months than I have in the past two years. We are doing so well the CTO is planing on just staying WFH.
You expect the release to be in april or for them to announce the release in april? Because its not going to be april.
At the risk of Defending a corporation (shudder). I don’t think a few months 2 a quarter of a year is a long time for something to come out after announcement
May/june most likely, april would only be 4 months and tiers are usually 5-6
It’s approaching mid March and we haven’t even gotten the 9.1 PTR. A major patch is going to have at least 6 weeks of PTR before release. That puts us into May at the earliest. June is more likely for 9.1 the way things are going now.
I figure we’ll get a ptr within the next couple of weeks.
Come to think of it, 9.1 PTR might be even longer than what I said. 9.0.5 PTR lasted 28d and it was basically just the valor system and some hotfixes to specs.
9.1 is going to be story, raid, dungeon, new zone, spec tuning … oh boy it’s going to be a long PTR…
Both T&E and Preach are speculating August release. Given they both have Blizzard contacts in their Rolodex I wouldn’t be surprised if this was leaked to them to try and manage expectations in that direction.
My guess would be late July.
Wouldn’t be overly surprised by a mid July release, with S2 starting early August.

It’s 4 months. Nov -> Dec. Dec -> Jan. Jan -> Feb. Feb -> Mar. More like 3.5 months, but not 3 months.

Legion’s first major patch came a month after release. The PTR came up weeks after release.
Battle for Azeroth’s first major patch was 4 months after release, but was announced 1 month after release.
So god forbid people expect the first patch to be similar to past expansions. THe fact we didn’t even hear about the patch until 3 months in is bad enough. To tell us essentially it’s another 3-4 months away is ridiculous.
7.1 was far too quick (it was 2 months btw, Oct 24th was when 7.1 came out)
Also, neither of those expansions were A) delayed and B) worked on during a major gobal pandemic
Many people who have connections to blizz are actually predicting AUGUST for 9.1
August 30th to October 24th is less than 2 months.
Blizzard literally told us 9.1 would be in Spring. That means June 21st at the latest.
Willing to bet all my gold that when that interview was given, they hadn’t decided they needed to roll out the valor system in a x.0.5 patch. This has certainly pushed things back. Development is weird like that, things can change at any time.
9.0.5 hit the PTR less than a month after the interview. They most definitely knew a .0.5 patch was being released.
Makes you wonder if Blizzard is contemplating pushing this xpac much further past 24 months (> Nov 2022) or will the last major patch be scrapped (or worse be released only a few months before 10.x hype and beta ramps).
Given that you practically dont like anything at all about SL, its a wonder your even subscribed right now. I can only assume your part of the put down the game again today brigade.
Why? We never get flying that soon.
