It took forever to log in. When I finally had, I took a flight from Oribos to Bastion. Once I’d reached the end of the flight, I did not get dismounted from the taxi. A few moments after that, I found myself falling through the world. This lasted about 5 minutes before I decided to hard close the game. It took even longer to get logged back in after that. I was still falling when I finally got back into the game. I finally died. It respawned me back in Oribos.
I attempted the flight again…same result.

Strictly speaking the maintenance period hasn’t ended yet, and won’t for another few minutes. Anything until that time is likely still servers being cycled or coming back online, plus an influx of impatient people stressing the resources that are back up.
There also wasn’t any patch applied.

I hate to say it, but just wait it out. You’ll die…eventually, and be respawned in Bastion.
Similar thing happened to me. I was flying to Oribos and fell off the mount into the abyss. Couldn’t do anything so I hard exited and am still waiting after ~5min to login
I flew to Maldraxxus outside of a group (was in one last two attempts to fly). I was stuck on the taxi for a moment, but it did finally let me off and I didn’t fall through the world.
