Patch 9.1 doesn't move the needle

For me I love the idea of archaeology puzzles and artifacts. I have my hat ready. :cowboy_hat_face:

For others they want more content and Korthia is the size of my backyard.

It’s real simple. If you didn’t like 9.0 then chances are you aren’t going to like 9.1. If you did like 9.0 then this should be up your alley because it is more of the same. That’s pretty much how it is right now. Blizz will make a few small changes here and there, but the maw, torgast and the covenants are the main focus of this expansion.

I agree on this part. In fact I think they should focus the next expansion on integrating the professions more in the game. They have been badly neglected for awhile. Messing around in classic has really shown me how far they have dropped the ball in this area.

I think the true test comes with patch 9.1.5 changes but that is hard to determine IMVHO.

Jeff Kaplan has had nothing to do with WoW since WotLK ended . This far into the game he is about as relevant as a rubber would be to a eunuch .

They fixed a bug for MM and night fae nothing more

I honestly don’t have any faith that there will be a 9.3 . I think we might get a 9.2.5 tuning patch before the 10.0 pre patch late next year .

If SL goes into 2023 I see it being like TBC where they launched it right after the first of the year.

I don’t think they are going to WoD SL with cut content ,I just think they are going to do larger patches . 9.1 alone has more content then 6.1 (selfie patch) .

It’s totally fine to be unhappy with a patch.

But WHY do some of you expect a content patch to be some massive gamechanging design philosophy shift that fixes all of your issues with the game?

A patch is never going to be that. Massive changes come with expansions. Patches just provide more content within the bounds the expansion has already set. Sure we might get a new system or whatever, but it’s gonna be piggybacking off what’s already there.

Ive seen i think two or three Ion interviews where they popped the WOD question to him about the future of SL and every time he kinda shrugs off 9.1 and says after 9.2 theres some mind blowing stuff. Every time he says they will not do the WOD treatment to SL where they write it off and just wait for the next xpac…which is good, they should never abandon a xpac or game system again imo.

Keep in mind same was said for BFA and it was weak AF though i do miss my tenticle daddys whispers in my ear as i play, it was a cool idea at least the end of BFA.

The whole class balancing thing is a god damn pathetic joke. That we had to wait until 9.1 for basically a 15% buff for DH is laughable. What’s that you couldn’t add that buff during the season? Why? Why can’t you Blizzard? Please, do give me a legitimate reason…oh wait you can’t because you’re incompetent.

and still some in here will defend it, lol…even after this game has shed MILLIONS of customers. Its been losing customers for longer than it was gaining them from what I can tell. Apparently they started annoying paying customers around Cata…and its been a downhill free fall ever since.

Liking the game or not is a subjective thing.
But what is objective fact is theyve run off players by the millions.
Lessons clearly havent been learned.

The mind blowing stuff might not be about SL but about where we go after SL .
People just assume it is in reference to the SL and to be honest how many patches an expac has to be is a player created idea. No where has blizz ever said an expansion has to be so many patches . THey could easily go up to just 9.2 and tell the whole story without cutting content.

If we get a Jailer raid in 9.2 we have seen the whole story of the SL and have defeated the final boss. Anything after that would be more relevant to a new expansion .

THe only way I see there being a 9.3 is if it comes early next year and isn’t a raid tier .

Instead of focusing on Choregast and such why not focus on say tier sets for classes, class balance perhaps more new talents rewards you can work for like how legion had the mage towers. I’m not even a dev and I could list way more on how to keep people in your game that what they are doing now.

If the next expansion ends up like this I’d prefer that they don’t make one.

I doubt that they will even release a 9.3 to be honest.

Time delay IMO raised the bar.

Whether that is fair or not that is the truth.

Doesn’t mean they will up their game but it will for sure make it a lot easier to limbo dance around the issues .

Completely irrelevant to my post, but thanks for the input, I guess?

Well you mentioned Jeff and he has been irrelevant to WoW for the last 5 expansions .

As for minor devs they most likely come and go like people do in any career .

You understand Blizzard’s turnover rate isn’t exclusive to it’s WoW team.

I think, to some extent you spoil yourself and the excitement of the content when you play it too much in the PTR. I don’t doubt the validity of your points, but I think for many, most of the fun is getting to experience new content from the game, but that excitement is expectedly diminished in comparison to everyone else if you just spent the last couple of weeks playing through it already.
