This addon brought so much joy to so many people, and at no cost to anyone else. I truly hope Blizzard recognizes how disappointed the RP community is and addresses this in some way.
Whatâs stopping them from moving to one or making a character there?
People speak of the Alliance community as an âinclusiveâ group of players that love newcomers, but if someone wants to mount collect on Horde, or as a neutral pandaren, and would like to use Alliance mounts, theyâre out of luck because theyâre not playing exclusively on an Alliance character.
Thatâs the last Iâll say about this. Your point makes zero sense to me.
This makes absolutely no sense at all. Youâre saying that all server types should be abolished and every server should just be the exact same then? Not to mention itâs entirely different from your original argument. Which makes me think youâre just being contrarian.
I think itâs safe to say that this is going to be one of the very top threads for a good while.
Free boosts are a thing.
We can still CRZ in people from off server in our own parties and TRP3, XRP, and MRP will communicate our RP profiles to those people. The only thing CrossRP does for offserver people is translate across faction. For an offserver person to be on a RP server they must be anchored and people theyâre in a party with will have their profiles visible anyhow.
As mentioned, alluded, and directly stated from all manner of storytellers in this thread, the CrossRP addon completely shifts what is possible in our RP experiences. It was one of my absolute favorite, if not my total favorite, parts of the game to emerge from BfA changes, and allowed for characters (who ICly have relations spanning both factions and beyond) to interact as they were meant to within the community at large. Conflict doesnât always have to involve swords and spells, and this addon allowed us to explore methods of interaction that were less accessible before. I hope some sort of functionality can be restored, as CrossRP was and is an incredible addon, and, to me, became an instant staple for RP addons. Thanks for all the fun times so far, and I hope thereâs many more to come with my friends Blue-side ^-^
((Also, er⌠I think the message was mentioned loud and clear. Itâs not my place to police or anything, but can we try and keep things civil? o.O))
It needed to be blocked. Glad this was finally done.
Iâm going to go off of that, and be a little mean to poke a point here. If PvP servers were removed, and put into itâs own opt-in game mode now. What is any difference now that all of the servers are either Normal or RP?
WoW now technically has only PvE servers, so the servers are the exact same.
My original argument is that itâs an addon that allows cross faction communications, and that hasnât blown over well in the past. So I provided some points, but now Iâm at the mercy of everyoneâs reading comprehension levels after I input my two cents on the situation.
I hope blizzard will help fix this. cross talking was a -loooooooooooooooooooooooong- asked for feature, and finally the rp servers got it, the addon was even talked to blizzard a feww months ago if it was ok to use and theyvhad no problem with itâŚbut now itâs a problemâŚ?
it is really annoying and unfair to kill this addon forâŚunneccasary reasons.
They list the type next to the server. Blizzard disagrees with this statement.
Right, and you were told exactly why CRP doesnât violate any rules, and that Blizzard said it was fine.
So anyone who doesnât agree with you must have poor reading comprehension. Got it. I think weâre done here. Youâve made your point, thanks.
Because there are some aspects that RP servers have when Normal servers dont. RP servers donât have sharding save for current expac related zones, RP servers have stricter name creation, RP servers generally have communities that focus on building RP and such.
Youâre going to have a hard time finding that as such on Normal servers. RP servers have a differenât nature on how they run than Normal, so to say âintegrate everything into one like War Modeâ defeats the purpose of distinguishing what makes RPers stand out.
Fun was detected and in turn eliminated.
Yes, I have been corrected, but my opinion on the addon still stands. It shouldnât be allowed solely based on whatâs happened previously with cross-faction communication addons.
There is literally no reason for our characters to not be able to communicate cross-faction when there are NPCâs that can do so without an issue - donât feed me this bullcrap that Player Characters are not as prominent or as important as the NPCs in the game and so shouldnât be able to - when weâre the heroes that defeated all of the major villains of World of Warcraftâs story with someone always taking the credit for it.
At least make a push to make racial languages learnable by the player.
If weâre being honest people shouldnât be RPing on Non-RP servers in the first place simply due to the fact that they wouldnât find much RP there in the first place.
Iâd like to remind everyone to encourage positive discussion and keep positive vibes!
Itâs honestly not ideal that the addon is so restrictive, because I know for certain that some people like to RP on normal realms. However, I think I can safely say that there is a very small number of people who would want to do that, and using this sort of technology on a normal realm could be seen as hindering the âgame experienceâ to players who want to play the game with how the devs want to present it.
To me, it makes sense that this sort of functionality should stay on RP realms only, as it expands upon what people enjoy on those realms.
Of course there are also roleplayers on RP realms who would like to have the language barrier intact, but the golden rule of RP is basically this: if you donât like the way someone else is playing, donât play with them. There are many styles to roleplay, and a lot donât agree with each other; we all know to just play with what we want with who we want, and let the different people play how they want.
Iâm strongly in favor of an argument that RP realms should be more distinguished by more communication options (as opposed to just a mere naming policy and sharding rules).
If you allow me to be even more honest, thereâs no roleplay outside of Silvermoon City.
that is kinda dumb and damaging.
just because past addons were done badly/implemented doesnt mean you just outright destroy any addon tht is built to replace itâŚactually look and investigate the addon and determine if itâs wrong/cheating/etc to be removed or not.
this addon,overall did no harm.
