Both on iPhone and battlenet app on MacBook, the passkey does not actually finalize the login. It opens browser and completes the passkey but the handoff back to battlenet never completes.

It’s because the Battle.net app doesn’t handle the authentication itself. It opens a webpage to so, but if you’re using iCloud private relay, the browser can’t pass the authentication token back to the app.
If you disable iCloud private relay, it should work

Ahh that is probably the culprit. Oh well, not going to turn that off guess I won’t be using passkey at all with bnet

Interesting if that is this case. I use passkeys on my Mac and only Battle.net is the one that doesn’t work. And I use private relay.
Yeah, maybe I will try with that off and post back just for the data point lol
But I will not turn off private relay permanently just for bnet

Several weeks ago Battle.net was forcing everyone to relogin every time, which made the passkey/private relay issue a big hassle. But since Battle.net now remembers your login status, you only have to turn off private relay temporarily once, login via passkey, and then you’re fine.
Even after a reboot (and installing the 26.2 update), I’m able to launch Battle.Net and play WoW without disabling private relay.
