Leveling up a second character with my wife and we really dont do much besides quest and will probably do delves. We picked up tailoring but was wondering if there was a second profession that also offered a passive ability to gain gold by just doing what you would normally do instead of many of the other professions.
You are most likely looking at picking up any of the gathering professions (mining, herbing, skinning).
The other crafting professions require another one to feed them materials. As it sounds like you don’t want to play or work the Auction House, only use what you gather doing your own content, that pretty much excludes everything else.
The natural pairing of tailoring is enchanting since they are both independent of another profession. And chanting has its own gathering part like tailoring. Mats for it usually do no linger on the ah either.
There really isn’t another pure passive gathering ability like Tailoring’s cloth gathering. The real gathering professions still require to you engage with resource nodes or dead skinnable creatures. (Although skinning your own animal kills as part of questing can be a small bonus; it still requires extra actions to gather, unlike cloth just looting along with the rest.)
This. What are you going to do with 10 bracers of leveling after you’ve made them? Most don’t sell. They feed the mats for enchanting. Unfortunately, you will need to supplement that, but especially if you have heirlooms, you won’t be equipping much that drops anyways. Even if you do, you outgrow it soon.
So if you do inscription you can pick up Darkmoon cards from mobs in dungeons and delves etc. My bf specialized in that and makes gold selling the completed decks. People buy them to shard to purple crystals and to make embellishments. I wouldn’t say it’s super lucrative but it’s passive. And you can make starter trinkets for alts.
Enchanting. Just DE gear that you get from looting.
