The suggestion is very simple: if the loot is tradable and it is usable for other people on the group, add a “pass” button to let other players roll for the item.
Whispering the winner every time to ask if they are going to use the item or not, having the owner of the item asking for other players to manually type /roll, and then transferring the item by manually opening trade is just absurd, awkward and annoying.
Yes, but if the person stays silent, as they usually do, then the rest of the group do not know if they are going to use the item, or if they just didn’t offer, which results in them having to ask about it. So no, the problem is still there.
Hum… While I agree with you that WoW should be more social and there are systems on the game that heavily discourage that, I don’t see this “whispering to ask for loot” as very social. To me any conversation that can be placed on a macro in advance is not social. It is just something players have to do due to a lack of interface.
No, what I’m saying is that a button should pop up when you win a tradable item offering you a convenient way to pass the item along when you don’t need it.
I just greed what I don’t need. If it’s a new appearance I need. If it’s an upgrade, I need. Else, greed… if you want to pass on 100G or w/e the vendor price is, that’s on you.
I mean if they roll NEED on an item…asking them if they need it becomes redundant when the answer is in the rolling for the item.
This was fine in personal loot, but the pass is in not rolling otherwise it’s need or greed…I don’t understand the topic… The X on the box is the “pass”
It’s funny but I imagine people would still ask if they are going to pass anyways. I don’t think it solves anything. They will still whisper you then if they do now.
Some will, some won’t. Some will offer rolls, others will trade to whoever whispers first, some will keep it just to vendor despite the gold impact being fairly negligible.
It kind of sucks, but the less barriers you put up for people the more likely they are to participate.
The topic is to add a pass button for personal loot. Right now there is no pass button or an X, you have to whisper the person since you have no way of knowing it the person needs the item or not.
Maybe, but after being denied lots of times they would probably stop.
The problem with “need” is that everyone has their own definition of what it is. Like the hunter who roles need on an item with strength on it, preventing a player where strength is a major factor in their combat strength from getting it.
Nope. If they didn’t say anything, the expectation is that they want to keep it. No need to ask. This is exactly why there were so many thread about those addon’s that spam people as soon as they get something.
