I want to run WoW at 100+ fps “and maintain at least 60 fps in raids/BGs” on high-level graphics settings at 1440p. I admittedly know little about specs and don’t know what would be adequate, what would be weak, and what would be overkill. I was hoping I could get some recommendations on parts or a pre-built from someone that knows more than I do, or someone that’s getting these results that would share their build.
Intel i9 10900k OC to 5.1/5.2 or i7 10700k OC to 5.1/5.0
4000mhz Ram or faster
RtX 3070 or better or RTX 2080 Super
850w power Supply
OR
Ryzen 5 5600x or Ryzen 7 5800x (don’t overclock leave it stock)
3600mhz CL16 Ram or 3800mhz CL17
RTX 3070 or RTX 2080 Super
750w power supply
Your frames per second will be through the roof. There also really isn’t a game you couldn’t play at Max settings with either configuration
If you don’t know a lot about building computers and your going pre-built select the components I listed above at ibuypower .com or cyberpower .com or NZXT .com. All those sites do pre-built systems and let you select the components. If you use one of those sites go with an Asus or MSI Motherboard.
I personally really do not like going pre-built but understand why people do. If people didn’t I wouldn’t have a job because I build gaming rigs for a living.
Unless you get lucky with a new 3060ti and are okay with older Intel parts, it’s kind of a bad time. Pretty much everything is low stock and overpriced right now.
This is another thing to keep in mind however if he’s not buying the components himself and is going prebuilt? most of the custom PC Builder websites that I listed have these hard to get components in stock
