I got burnt by this exact thing. I start jobs just before surge pricing starts now. I do think it’s odd that the first tier doesn’t unlock at maybe 20 jobs? I presume they expected low hourly participation.

I see these things in the zone but no idea what it is (well I do but…) I tried a few of those “jobs” out there and was not very captivated tbh. I should do more of them but they are just not holding my attention tbh.

They should just make it personal participation. 2 jobs for a green box, 5 for blue, 10 for purple.

I’m still confused if this Surge Pricing thing is the same as the Emerald Dream event from Dragonflight that gives lots of Valorstones.
If so, then my feedback is increase the timer cause I miss it quite often. I don’t think I’ve ever recieved any chests from it even though I see the reward at the top of my hud.

I have no idea what you are fussing about. It starts on the half hour and I get to my job and wait for the event to start to finish my first job. I don’t think you even need that weekly quest to be active to get jobs, I keep on getting them recycling after my rest stop.
Sort of, except you can’t complete the jobs in a raid so you can’t join a big group that will fill it so depending on the time of day or your shard, it can be impossible to get the purple box.
Neh, its a crap “event” and doesn’t need to drag on longer. Either reduce the jobs needed to complete the bar, make the progress personal per player, or allow raid grouping.

yeah I do theatre top of the hour and then surge pricing on the half hour
If you click on a quest in your inventory it will open up and on the right hand side there are tabs - one says events and it shows event times.

I don’t understand how people are having issues on this? is it like some of the tasks are bugging out on you or not working correctly? the more people that do it while its active the faster it will fill if hardly anyone is doing it then it wont fill much at all.
if your trying to get the mount, it does not come from surge pricing it comes from doing 10 jobs in a row, just do it for like 30mins and you will have the mog 2 pets and mount, 30mins seems to be the going time rate as all my friends did it and got the mount that wy, granted some did take a little bit longer but not that much longer.
if you get stuck on a task there is a macro/script you can type id have to search for it but you can use it to stop the task your on and get a different one not sure how well it really works but based on the posts i say in the post posting the macro it seems to work well as people said they used it and it worked for them.

the issue is the weekly if you pick it up after it hits 10 you have to wait another hour if not many participate in surge pricing

I mean it works pretty much the same as every other zone wide meta. If you are trying to fill a bar, it’s not going to happen with low zone participation.
Open group finder. Join a group that’s doing the meta event. Move on.

I dunno why it’s required that you complete a job in order to be eligible for a box. I mean, it does make sense, but with other similar zone events these boxes are just given out to anyone in the area regardless of whether they’ve actually done anything. Surge Pricing should be like that IMO.
if the stuff in the box was worth doing it more people would do it, mount/pet/mog is from just doing 10 jobs so the event doesnt need to be active to get the mount/pet/mog

I’m not concerned with that. I’m just drawing a comparison to similar events like the Theater Troupe or Superbloom, and how a player gets the reward boxes for those just for being in the area when the milestones are reached. I think Surge Pricing should work like that, so we don’t have situations like the OP where they’re trying to complete the weekly but miss out on credit because they weren’t quick enough with getting a job done.

if everyone got credit for doing nothing then no one would do it like theater event, have you noticed how many AFK and do nothing once they reach 50/50 for the quest?

The bars still get filled for these events, so I don’t think the afk players are really harming completion rates for them.
why should i if i dont get anything i need from those chests
if they dropped runed or gilded id do it
not enough people participate in surge pricing to get the extravagant tip chest, and im on a populated server.
